Title: Some good news and not so good news
Post by: findingreason on April 07, 2017, 07:24:03 AM
So, I had my first appointment in Finland at the gender identity clinic in Tampere.

It was a mixed bag of good and bad. The good was I got referrals for facial hair removal, Adams apple removal, and voice coaching. I have the option of pursuing breast augmentation, which I am still deciding on. The bad news was because of my recent hospitalizations it will push my GRS off by at least 8 months :( but I am glad for the good things that did come from the appointment. <3

The thing that comes to mind is that this isn't a race and that you are making progress. Sure 8 months is a long time but how long have you already waited? In the bigger scheme of things you haven't stopped moving towards that goal. In the mean time you can fill in the wait with the other things you want to get done. And it means we will have you here to share the journey a little longer. We don't want you to be too quick in running off to live your new life as so many do after GCS. We can use your experience, strengths , and hopes right here and we can provide you with the support you may need from time to time.
Hang in there girl you time is going to come.

   Hugs,
     Jeanette
