Hello. I'm Terence - not my real name, but I'm stealth and don't want to be publicly trans. I'm 20, and have Klinefelter's syndrome (47,XXY). Technically male, then, but - I was born ambiguous and the doctors (and possibly my parents) made some bad decisions and assigned me female. By the time I was three or four, I'd figured out that I wasn't female, but, with my family being as they are, I was laughed at when I tried to explain. In early 2016 I bit the bullet and referred myself to a GIC. It was only in late 2016 that I found out I was intersexed and found out about the circumstances of my birth. My parents deny any knowledge of it, and provide me with no support at all, continuing to refer to me using female terms and using my birth name. Still, I have hopes for the future. I'd like to become a singer-songwriter some day.

Hi Terence :icon_wave:
Welcome to Susan's Place :) Glad to have you here, join on in the fun
My story is somewhat similar to yours but with the exception that I'm 55 and was assigned male at birth and the Klinefelter's was overlooked for years until I became injured and a Dr. noticed the symptoms and did a work up of tests
Unfortunately that research also cost me a decent paying job and I was dismissed without benefits
I bought an XXY t-shirt only to realize that most folks where I live do not possess the education to understand it
Oh well, welcome to the site
Hugs
V M
Thank you, Dena. I'll be hanging around the FtM and intersex forums, maybe wandering into some others on occasion.
And - it's nice to meet you, VM. Sorry to hear about your job. I'm disabled and live on state benefits. Could you perhaps get state benefits? If you're in my country, you could quite possibly get jobseeker's or means-tested ESA. I don't know much about the American welfare state.
Glad to be here.
