Title: When was the first time you passed?
Post by: Terence on April 08, 2017, 12:28:55 AM
When was the very first time you passed? For me, it was when I was six or seven. I was wearing my brother's clothes, as I always did, and I went to the newsagent's for sweets and little kids' comics. As I was handing my pocket money over, my mother came in. The newsagent said to her, "your son's very polite. Every time he comes in here, he's always well-mannered". The newsagent was starting to ramble about all the noisy and rude kids he got in there when my mother "corrected" him that I was her "daughter". I never went to that newsagent's again.

At about age 44, I rode across San Francisco to the Folsom Street Fair in drag on my motorcycle. It was an excellent day, though "passing" would have to be considered a relative thing.

Im fortunate, I have been going out in public since 16. Went to my prom with two girlfriends and have never looked back.. I have passed all my life until starting transition 4 months ago.

I never went out in public until I was 53 years old. I was amazed that I didn't get any second looks or comments so I guess I can say that I pretty much passed from day one.

when I first had my long hair, but not for everybody, if I wear makeup and look cute pretty much everybody will say I'm a lady until I talk...

School. Sub teachers would often automatically assume boy, as would strangers. The neutral name also pushed them toward male.

I threw a wig on, brushed it, went out in jeans & tshirt & got mammed.  First time out... however... it took some 'polishing' over time :)

I've never really passed, but on many occasions when people didn't see my face, I've been addressed as "miss" lol

I've had long hair off and on my whole life, and I'm rather small for a guy. So I look like a girl with no hips. And I've dressed androgynously for a long time.

My face is the thing that gives me away, and where all my dysphoria is centered. [emoji53]

For me it was "When was the last time". I easily passed from birth up to my late teens, then until about 40 it took some effort. It helped that I have natural breasts. Have given up trying now. too many miles on my body.

Really, I cannot remember. But it does happen more often after I had FFS.

From ages 13-15, I passed flawlessly, but after 15 puberty struck and I don't think I've passed again without someone "correcting" themselves.

I don't know.
I don't think I pass now, but others treat me properly and that's what matters.
