Hi Everyone,
I imagine my problem is the opposite of what many girls experience, but I have an issue and I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I have been on hormones for 2 moths now and have experienced very rapid breast growth. I'm overweight so I had a bit of a head start, but I have gone from an A to a D already. According to this site anyway:
https://www.berlei.com.au/bra-size-calculator (https://www.berlei.com.au/bra-size-calculator)
Obviously I'm super excited by this turn of events, but there is one tiny problem. I'm not even close to coming out at work or going full time, but my ever expanding chest is getting harder and harder to hide. I'm 6'4" with a barrel chest, so luckily even a D doesn't look huge on my frame and is still subtle enough under a tight sports bra for now.
I know my mileage may very, but has anyone else experienced the majority of their breast growth in the first few months of HRT?
Part of me is worried that this is all that they will grow (I know I'm incredibly lucky to have so much, but I still want more, to look more proportional for my frame), part of me is worried they will keep going at this same pace, basically forcing my hand in coming out. I should add that the average breast size in my family is an E, no one smaller than a DD. Even when I was a young healthy male I was an A.

Hmm, it is both a blessing and a conundrum.
I am only on a mid level dose of patches going on 4 weeks. Before then it was 2 months of spiro. Yet already I have gained a few cm's when I measure around my full chest in this 4 weeks, which is not huge but I am wondering myself if it happens in the early stages for others then settles. Begin cycle again every X amount of months for the first 2 years?
I came to understanding my transsexual nature by way of having gynecomastia and frequently forums of men who wore bras for that and a variety of other reasons. I always thought I was just "different". While I had larger than normal breasts since puberty a trial of testosterone to deal with low T triggered a quick expansion. By the time I knew something was really going haywire I began wearing a 42D bra. That was April 1 two years ago. By fall of that year I was wearing a 42G, so yes I understand growth happening quickly. Today after some weight loss I wear a 40G and fill it out quite well. All of this before MTF HRT. I say this only to provide some level of credibility to my advice.
If you are presenting at work as a man, other men are 99% oblivious to your changes. They may notice something different but in the average male mind, large breasts don't exist on men and their brain doesn't compute. I see the odd look every now and then but you quickly see their expression change when big red letters flash across the screen in their head "does not compute, ignore" and they go on. Sounds odd, but so true.
Looking down from your vantage point they look huge, but from the front they really aren't. You can put them in five different bras and get five different silhouettes. Its your choice. I'm not a fan of binding etc and have worn minimizer bras. They do a good job of changing the shape and concealing things. Actually too good a job as I quit wearing them because I actually missed my projection.
Women will notice their growth but they are MUCH more discreet, because they have them too. I have never had a negative thing from women regarding them. So I wouldn't worry about them.
Most of this is between your ears. It's big news to you but frankly everyone else is worried about their own lives and could give a rip about your boobs. Yesterday I attended a wedding and for the first time in 6 months I was in all male attire. I stopped at a big box hardware store on the way home for a few things. The particular shirt I had on definitely needed a coat and I had left it in the car. With nothing to break up the look that so many women do to deflect the gaze. I felt like they were really hanging out there. As I walked along I thought through the fact that I had on a rather impressive bra, and quite sassy lingerie, all hidden underneath my male costume. So I thought, "just own it", and went on like it was meant to be and it was all fine. I say that only because after a couple years I still find myself in situations where I think the whole world is watching and posting my pic to social media but that just isn't the case.
Growth is not linear, always going up. There will be times where you question their size by the hour and points where you think its all done. Only to get that tingling a few weeks later and they begin to expand again.Have some fun with it! I think with my continued weight loss for GCS and HRT I will still end up another cup size larger and I am fine with that. Looking forward to it actually as I already have my eye on some new bras ;)
It's hard to say what will happen for you, everybody's body is different. There are a lot of large breasted women in my family, my mother is a G cup, so I was hopeful that even at my age, I'd get something.
My breasts grew rapidly from week three to around week fourteen of me being on HRT, and then stalled. They've barely changed at all in the 26 weeks since, despite increasing my E dose twice.
My breast growth also started very quickly, but no quick as yours. I also come from a family of big breasted women (DD and bigger), my mother had the smallest breasts in the family with a D
I started out like a plank (no man boobs at all), I was relevantly skinny and reached an A cup after a month and by 3 months I was a B. For me then things slowed down. I reached an C cup by 12 months HRT and I reached by final size, a D cup within the 2 year mark. Technically I have bigger breasts then my mothers, as she is 34D and I am 36D.
Maybe you growth will slow down.

The numbers don't go high enough. I wonder if there's a calculator out there that does?

Like you said, your over weight. If you got down to like 130lbs-150lbs I'm sure you will go to a A or a small B cup.

She's 6'4. 130-150? Hardly. 170-200 would be normal for a female of that height and I would bias towards the upper end. Taller folks aren't just longer versions of shorter folks. Usually, there's more bone and muscle, naturally wider too. No wonder women have bulimic and anorexic issues. The paradigm is unrealistic.

Indeed, I think my ideal BMI is somewhere around the 200lbs mark, but I haven't been that tiny since before I finished growing. I used to be very athletic when I was younger, somewhere around the 210 mark. Even then I still had A cups.
Even so, my main concern is the next few months, after I'm out at work then the size isn't an issue anymore. It would be unhealthy for my weight to change that drastically in such a short amount of time. To get to 150 you would need to cut me in half, literally.

That's the largest one I have found, they do vary slightly from country to country, I'm right on the edge of that particular scale.

Thank you for your lengthy response, it was very helpful to know that even if growth continues rapidly, it is unlikely to force my hand. Very hard to judge ones own body with any kind of objectivity. I look down and they seem huge to me, also because they are still very new I guess. But you are right, there is plenty of room to dress them down.

Many of us here, myself included, wish we had your "problem". ;)
I am currently a 38A, but wish I was perhaps a C.

i didn't notice her height. Either way if she went down to a healthy weight those boobs would shrink.
In the first couple months I noticed increased swelling of my breast tissue. This was with spiro and extremely low dose of E. I noticed even more swelling when I added in finestiride.
The swelling subsided after a few months and it was not really growth.
Do you feel any lumps behind your breasts indicating buds or is it still soft and fleshy behind the nipple.
That is what I used to determine whether it was growth or just swelling.
Now I'm a 34 B after 10 months, only 4 of which have been full dose. I also noticed at month 5 some small buds and now have very large hard buds behind the nipple.

I'm 6'5 and my LBM was 210 5 years ago. Probably 190 now. 220 would work for me, but lots of work/diet to get there.

Definitely buds, not sure what is considered large, but I'd say roughly golf ball sized.

That definitely does sound more like growth than swelling for me, my buds are about 1.5x the size of a golf ball.

I've had pretty rapid breast growth, going from nothing to bordering on a 36DD right now. I'm 5'8" too and I still have my buds or well breast tissue at this point which is around at little bigger in diameter than a tennis ball, but still rather huge for only a year, and everyone in my family is roughly an E cup so I have a lot of growth still in the next few years, but, it does happen rather fast for some.
I too had pretty rapid growth - that then rounded out after adding progesterone.
My development was pretty fast too. I went from nothing to a full b cup in about 7 months. For the first 6 months my breasts were sore all the time. After that things slowed but I am still getting slow, consistent growth and am about halfway between a b and a c right now, which is the 10 month mark. I notice now tho that the breast soreness doesn't start up again until about a week or more after I've had my bi-weekly estrogen injection. I guess the estrogen spends the first seven days just maintaining the girls and then starts working on growth toward the end of the 2 week cycle. I'm considering asking my doc to increase my estrogen dosage. I can be happy with what I've got now, but I want more, more, more!!!
Edina you are very fortunate. I would like mine to grow to a "B" to "C".
I was quite surprised by how rapidly they grew. I did have a head start, several years ago I was on estrogen and progesterone for 6 months. Not much breast growth in the first 4 months but nipple growth and nipple sensation was rather impressive. In the last two months the breasts started growing a little faster and I ended up with large A, maybe small B. That's how it stayed for several years until I started gaining weight which brought me to a large B, maybe small C. The added weight created a huge problem, when I tried to loose weight which I could the very first thing I lost was breasts. I just didn't have any to spare, kinda depressing.
Now back on low dose HRT the effect was/is startling. Doubled in size in the first month, nipples also. Was quite pleased with the nipple sensations that first 6 months left me with over the years but the low dose has increased it 4 or 5 fold. So yeah fast this time, started slow the first time and I assumed the rapid increase this time was due to the head start I had. I'm not to displeased with what I have now except I'm like a kid at the ice cream counter, MORE please.
Chris8080...I know this is an old thread, but your post got my attention. I hadn't been able to find anyone who had an experience like mine. Until I read your post. I'll try to condense this. I began hrt and transition 18 years ago when I was 45. After 12 years I had to, for personal reasons, transition back to male. I've been living and presenting as a male since. I still had breasts, a large B cup, so I did get a few looks occasionally. I had stopped taking estrogen, but was still taking meds for enlarged prostate. I never liked how I felt being completely off estrogen, so about 18 months ago I began taking a low dose. I wasn't worried about additional breast growth because of the years I had been on estrogen previously, the low dose I was going to take, plus my age. To say I got a surprise doesn't begin to describe it. After the first week I had quite noticeable breast growth, including nipples and areolas. And the rapid growth continued. I was shocked at the amount of growth I was having in such a short amount of time. Maybe it was a combination of my age (less T production), the med for enlarged prostate, and then the low dose estrogen thrown in. I really don't know for sure, but I wish this would have happened when I first began hrt. I'm still seeing some growth, but it has slowed down considerably. For awhile I considered stopping the estrogen. After the first 6 months or so I was actually concerned that my breast growth was getting out of hand and I wasn't sure if/when it would stop. I haven't measured, but I would estimate that today I'm close to, if not at, a D cup. I'm 5'10" and weigh about 175, wear tee shirts during warm weather and no, I don't wear a bra. So I now get more than an "occasional look". But I've gotten used to it. So for those who think they'll never get any bigger, or are too old to start hrt, there are always exceptions. Just be careful what you wish for. You just might get it!
Quotebut was still taking meds for enlarged prostate
I've been on them for about a year. It appears my breasts are growing, though not as fast as I'd like. However, I was quite surprised last week, when I saw how much they were now sticking out under my shirt.
I also fill my bras better now.
