A new study came out, showing that estradiol alone or combined with progesterone/dydrogesterone did NOT increase breast cancer risk in ciswomen. This conclusion was based on a META-ANALYSIS and a systematic review of 14 studies, randomized and observational.
Add to that, a study published only 2 years ago that concluded that the risk does not increase in transgendered women on HRT. As far as I know, there have only been about 17 reported cases in the literature and that is very low considering the tens of thousands (+) treated since the 1960's, some on very high doses of estrogen and progestogens.
Do you have the name or link to study? Always interested in learning more.

I do that after my first mammogram the doctor recommended them only every two years stating in the record as a reason " the lower incidence of breast cancer in this population" (Transgender Women)
It is important to note that not all HRT uses estradiol. I remember the good old days where we took Premarin and swallowed the tablets whole. Today, I am taking bio-identical estradiol sublingual and I have no fear of a higher risk of breast cancer.
We have about the same risk as cis-males. Here is the journal article from a couple of years ago:

Yes, that is the study I was referring to in terms of risks in transwomen. Considering that mammograms expose the breasts to radiation and slightly increase the risk of cancer and that the risk does not increase in transwomen with HRT and that men do not need to undergo mammograms, I don't intend to EVER have a mammogram. I personally consider the risk to be greater than the benefit. The same is not true of ciswomen.
Premarin taken alone in ciswomen in the WHI randomized controlled trial was found to significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer over time, as confirmed in recent studies.
