Teens confused enough without gender issues

There's never a dull moment in California. Two weeks ago, we learned about the new California Student Civil Rights Act, SB 777, that was signed into law by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The law, which takes effect on Jan. 1, clears up inconsistencies under the existing law that protects students from discrimination "based on actual or perceived disability, gender, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or associated with a person who has any of these characteristics."
