Just as I was hooping and hollering about my upcoming trip to see Dr. John O'Dea April 17, they call me to say the estradiol implants have been recalled, thus causing me to have to cancel (HOPEFULLY just postpone) the trip! YIKES! :( :o :'( and other such emoticons!
Now... I wonder what on Earth THAT is... Is this happening to other pellet-using Doctors? Has this happened before? What is a recall exactly anyway... will it last long?
DANG! And to think I postponed the trip myself one week due to time mismanagement. Had I gone the week before (April 10) IT WOULD BE DONE BY NOW! BAW! :'( (I'm sure it will be cleared by the time of the next appointment in 5 months).
Ai-ya! and Egads!
Anyway, anyone else hear of this? Just happened today (April 12).
Sincerely, Josephine Alexandria
IIRC my endo uses a compounded progynova pellet.
No contact from his office and I haven't fallen over in over 2 years from having one under my skin. :)
Update: Doctor John O'Dea is merely finding another vendor of the pellets. ;) Just a delay. New date: May 8. (You GOT to KNOW he's hustling... he losing money on this! Not just me, but many many others who have considerable amounts of money with his name on it are waiting.)
Just an annoyance. Just that, why did it happen just when I had an appointment? ??? Grrr! Oh well, many others thinking the same thing!
Some weeks ago I posted something about Doctor John O'Dea having had the estradiol pellets recalled. I had to postpone my trip and so on...
Well they called me today to tell me the estradiol pellet supply HAS BEEN RESOLVED! They are back with pellets again. Whew. Glad that's over.
I thought so that this would be resolved rather quickly. Doctor John O'Dea is world-known for his aggressive, no-letter-needed, results-getting programs of hrt. Using primarily implanted pellets, other methods are used too such as gels, patches, and take-home shots. I bet he scrambled fast to resolve this because that is his main show so to speak.
So now I am going May 23. Be interesting to see Los Angeles California anyway, never been there before.
So anyway, there you go. Just letting you all know Doctor John O'Dea is equipped with pellets again.

I did a lookup after reading your last post and saw that all forms of the med were available again so assumed it was a local issue with your provider. Sorry I didn't say something to allay your concerns.
Hugs,
Laurie
