I read online that it does so I want to get opinions because if it does then I'm going to stop drinking anything with caffeine.
I'm finding papers showing that it can during some stages of ovulation for cis girls, but their levels are all over the place anyway. It also seems to show a discrepancy by ethnicity, also puzzling.
Personally I'm not really worrying about it.
I hope not , Ive been transitioning for 4 years and I drink a whole lot of coffee.
I drink pop and coffee all the time.. Yikes i hope this isnt the case :O
Now that I think about it, When I was only drinking a moderate amount of coke my levels were higher, but ever since I started drinking coke a whole lot my estradiol level went down.
This is the first I've heard of it affecting Estradiol. I have noticed that Spironolactone is dehydrating me to the extent that I can't even do yoga anymore. I stopped drinking caffeinated coffee to reduce dehydration. I recommend cutting the caffeine for that reason.
Caffeine and oral estradiol are metabolized by the same enzyme concentrated in the small intestines, CYP1A2 so that there could possibly be an interaction although none has ever been established. I find if I drink coffee, my skin gets dryer and my boobs shrink. Softer skin and bigger boobs are some of the reasons I don't drink coffee anymore, also makes me anxious if I drink too much. Coke is full of sugar and just unhealthy (i.e. diabetes, obesity) so plenty of reason to drop it.
I guess I'm going to have to curb my coffee and Starbucks addiction when I start HRT wifi don't want to mess with the results.

It turns out it depends on your race, the amount of caffeine, and the source of the caffeine, oddly enough.
NIH Study shows caffeine consumption linked to estrogen changes
(https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/nih-study-shows-caffeine-consumption-linked-estrogen-changes)
Moderate caffeine intake associated with higher level for Asians, lower for whites.
Asian women who consumed an average of 200 milligrams or more of caffeine a day — the equivalent of roughly two cups of coffee — had elevated estrogen levels when compared to women who consumed less, according to a study of reproductive age women by researchers at the National Institutes of Health and other institutions.
However, white women who consumed 200 milligrams or more of caffeine a day had slightly lower estrogen levels than women who consumed less. Black women who consumed 200 milligrams or more of caffeine a day were found to have elevated estrogen levels, but this result was not statistically significant.
Total caffeine intake was calculated from any of the following sources: coffee, black tea, green tea, and caffeinated soda.
Findings differed slightly when the source of caffeine was considered singly. Consuming 200 milligrams or more of caffeine from coffee mirrored the findings for overall caffeine consumption, with Asians having elevated estrogen levels, whites having lower estrogen levels, and the results for blacks not statistically significant. However, consumption of more than one cup each day of caffeinated soda or green tea was associated with a higher estrogen level in Asians, whites, and blacks.
I guess the moral of the story for white chicks, Angélique, is don't drink a lot of coffee. (BTW, you have the prettiest name!)

Nothing can be concluded from these studies as these are just associations and there are confounding variables which could account for the link and could also explain the disparities in findings from one race to another. Randomized controlled trials need to be done where just one variable is manipulated and all others controlled for and more or less equal in both groups (control and experimental). Then cause and effect can be established.
To make recommendations based on such studies is unethical, wrong and is a disservice to the population, in my opinion and Maybebaby56, I'm not pointing the finger at you but at those articles and authors that make a big deal about these studies.
I drink a lot of coffee and would like to know if it is really a negative factor.

Caffeine, which is in chocolate, causes my hair to go gray; which is why I have completeley given it up. I also feel it lends itself to a workplace aggression factor.
Colas do come non caffeinated of course. Dr Pepper is a great source of phosporous (Greek for 'light') which is why I miss it so.
Another thing to keep in mind is this: is this merely lowering production? Because estradiol production for us is way different.

Could it be that woman that are jacked up on coffee are just so twitchy and strung out on caffeine that they burn more calories and therefore breasts shrink? Maybe it's not about the hormone impact at all :)

ill find out my next blood tests because I havnt drank anything with caffeine in a few days. Like I said in another post on this thread, when I barely was drinking caffeine my estradiol was higher, but then once I starting drinking it a lot my estradiol dropped.
If it does vary by ethnicity does anyone know how it affects Native Americans? I ask because I'm part Cherokee.

Hey! Fellow native here!! Shinnecock. A small tribe part of the Algonquian nation. Sorry, not thread hijacking :)
Interesting, I hope caffeine is ok as I drink a ->-bleeped-<- load of it.
Hooked on a bunch of Tevana and Davids specialty teas as well.
Damn I will quite asap if I do find out it effects things negatively.
What Im going to do for wake up juice now..... Sigh

I stopped caffeine 2 weeks ago for the same reason when on a breast development research binge.
The kind where you trawl the net all day instead of working but that was the only thing I came across that day to help was reduce caffeine and sugar intake.
Whether it's true or not I can't say but I defo didn't see anything saying it would help breast growth so it's kind of a no brainer for me.
Better safe than sorry was my thoughts and it's easy for me to switch from Lady Grey to Red Bush.
The only positive thing about caffeine is that since it is a diuretic and estrogen increases water retention, the latter is significantly reduced.
The only thing I can say about caffeine is that every year when my wife is a month away from her mammogram, she starts talking about cutting back on her caffeine intake because she says it can cause the machine to show lumps that don't really exist. I don't know where she got that idea or if it's just an old wives tale.

Not statistically significantly. When I started my transition, I used to drink some sort of soy milk because I had read that it increased estrogen. It was futile lol. The biggest and most important variable, to me, is time on estrogen, followed by human growth hormone production. :) Thankfully, once you reach a certain point in your transition, you start to forget to inject yourself with estrogen, etc. That's how tertiary the whole near-obsession with estrogen levels eventually becomes, in my experience. In fact, I've even opted to have somewhat higher estrogen levels in the last several months, mainly because of how it has affected my libido. I'm 23, btw.
Good luck!!!!
