Title: Finally Started
Post by: percy on April 27, 2017, 11:50:15 AM
I finally started T yesterday afternoon, it was a battle getting the pharmacy and insurance on the same page (because insurance doesn't use electronic authorization requests, sigh).

I did my first shot myself at home (I had 'training' a week before that.. kinda surprised I remembered), the needles are.. very small. 25G and only an inch long. But, as far as I know.. I did it correctly. I'm a bigger guy with a lot of leg fat, so the small needles were concerning. Also very difficult to get the actual meds into the syringe. It took me a while to figure it out.

I had some slight swelling and a small headache after the injection, but both went away shortly after.

Has anyone had issues with the oil that they use? Mine is suspended in cottonseed oil.
I'm watching for any rashes and such, but nothing so far.

Are you using separate needle tips to draw up the T and inject? I use a smaller, thicker tip to draw the T up and it is very quick.

Mine is suspended in sesame seed oil. Haven't had any issues with it. I did have some swelling and lightheadedness after my first injection but that was a one time thing.

The doctors said that they'd have two different sizes in there, but I ended up with only 25G needles all throughout. I'm not complaining, it was just.. a learning process I guess. You gotta like.. convince the heavy oil to draw into it.

It's odd how oils can be used to suspend the hormone. But cool, I've never been exposed to cottonseed oil before.. so I was a little weary of having a potential reaction. But I'm pretty sure I would have had one by now.

I definitely notice a calmness and energy I hadn't had before, I'm usually totally exhausted mentally and physically after classes. But then I took a walk with the dog for an hour, so I think I'm doing pretty good. My anxiety is lower than its been for a long time, probably because I feel like I'm finally making advances.

You don't need a prescription to order needles/syringes online. Allegro Medical usually has some really good prices for 100 pack boxes and you can sometimes find coupon codes for free shipping.
