Title: Backgrounds

I'm still learning to draw but how the heck do you attempt backgrounds?!?!
Do you draw it first or second?
Mostly I use paint tool sai so any advice would be great

I would say for me the main subject or point of focus is done first.

Yea I have been slowly trying to get back into it myself.
But it's funny with work and life things like talents seem to take a back seat, which is kind of a shame :/
