How long did it take your body hair to grow in? From just noticing it being longer and darker to fully grown in.
This past week I noticed legitimate patches of long black hair popping up on my inner thigh and creeping to the back of the thigh. Right now it looks like someone just spread one long streak of rogaine in between my legs and THAT is where the hair grew.
At first I was like oh cool MAN HAIR *grunting noise* but then my gf made me kinda self conscious because she said something like "if its a lot I don't care/notice but if its just a couple I want to pluck it." She hasn't seen the extent of the hair and cant tell that its WAY too much to pluck.
I just don't want to be stuck in this in between. How long did it take you to just get all the hair!?
I'm sure it takes a few years for men to grow all their body hair in. . . at 6 months all the arm/leg/thigh/crotch is there for me but the stomach/chest area is still filling in slowly.
I'd say it was around the year mark that my chest hair popped up. The first thing I noticed was a massive increase of hair in an already pretty hairy pubic region that slowly crawled up my stomach. Shortly thereafter, my arms, knuckles, hands, shoulders, and legs got hairy/hairier (this was around the six month mark).
A year and a half in, my chest hair (which started around my scar lines) is now climbing up the entirety of the pec on both sides. It seems to be coming in patches in that region, though.
All that being said, you can definitely tell that my stomach and pubic region contain the more 'seasoned' hair while my chest hair, though dark, is still in its new phase. I'm guessing it will all level out in another 2-4 years or so.
I was pretty hairy pre-T. On T, my legs filled in first, then my happy trail branched out, then my arms filled in, then my chest, then my shoulders. Somewhere in the middle add butt hair. Most of this was within the first six months. My chest hair didn't start to come in well until after my hysto + two years on T + daily biotin supplements.
I'm blond so its kinda hard to tell what was there before and what is just getting darker. My legs have totally filled in and hair has showed up on parts that didn't previously have any hair, like my knee caps and calf. I think maybe my arm hair is filling in too but again...blond can't really see anything significant.
I think the only considerable noticeable thing is the patchy hair on my inner thigh and my happy trail. I had exactly 3 long black hairs on my trail pre-T and now I have exactly 6 long black hairs and some shorter lighter ones for definition.
Body hair was absolutely something I was concerned about before starting HRT because I didn't think I wanted to be HAIRY! However, I am quite excited about the hair development so far and looking at my genes I think I'll be a pretty mild to moderate on the hairy spectrum.
All my body hair was light blond until T. I thought it wasn't going to change, but it has darkened a lot. I'd say it's a dark brown now in the areas activated by T, the rest has remained light. It didn't change color until the last couple of months though.
I'm really hoping this wont happen to me. My dad was blond up until puberty (late bloomer 19 or 20), then his hair turned brown and got darker over time. I love my blond hair and I'm ok with my leg hair turning a sandy brown and my happy trail coming in black like my nether regions but anything except my head hair PLEASE! I've got one long course arm hair that is dark brown and scaring me a little.
You head hair shouldn't be affected...
I'm that sandy sort of blond naturally and my hair has always been barely visible though it has been there. T has changed things though! My leg hair is starting to darken and I have darker hair on one side of my arm though the other side is still strangely blond. I've noticed this month that my stomach is now growing some blond hair but the real big change this month is that my chest has sprouted a ton of dark hair. It was like I went to bed with 'some' and woke up like WHOA where did all of this come from? My thighs are pretty patchy. Thankfully no back hair to report :)
I have hope that my hair darkens in places it hasn't yet. My dad and brother had their hair darken and mine is showing signs but my son has blond/red hair and he's almost 19
I'm over 2 years on T and my hair is still filling in. Everything has come in at different times too. For example, I started to notice significant changes in my leg hair around 2-3 months, but I hardly had any hair on my stomach/chest until about a year. My inner thighs are definitely one of the hairier parts of my body though.
The hair on my head is strawberry blond but for some reason I grew black hair on my stomach very quickly on T (around 3 months in I think). Iv'e noticed within the last 2 or so months that the hair on my legs looks a lot courser and more manly and that hair is starting to creep on to my knees and thighs, although it's not that noticeable yet. I've also noticed recently I'm starting to get one or two dark hairs on my chest. Yet I still can't grow facial hair >:(. I'd seriously swap any body hair for facial hair if I could but I guess I'm just unlucky that way.

The hair on my arms; although it's now darkened is still patchy and only really noticeable when a strong light is shining onto my arms. My head hair is darkened but I think that's just due to sunlight unfortuenatly. On the plus side I no longer have to use thickener shampoo to make my hair look less fine. Yet I still can't grow facial hair >:(. I'd seriously swap any body hair for facial hair if I could but I guess I'm just unlucky that way.
I'll say one thing for having less leg hair - it's less of a pain in the ass getting into a surf wetsuit. Not a major problem but I like my hair and don't particularly want to get rid of it. Having things tug on it occasionally is the price I guess.
Hair growth has been sporadic for me as well. Very much like lionheart described. However, I have started growing a LOT of back hair and upper arm hair. That is the only hair I didn't want. I wanted the chest hair but it seems to be really slow at coming in. I just don't understood the piles of back hair because none of the males on either side of my family had hairy backs. It is so long I have to shave it at least twice a week. So, this week I am going to start laser hair removal just on back and shoulders.
Mine started around four months, but even now at 2+ years, it's still going. Chest and belly are covered in dark curly hair, arms, shoulders, most of my back, legs, backside, etc etc etc. It's awesome and I love it!
I had the same thing, with patches of "old hair" and patches of "new hair". The patches connected around six months on T or so. Now, there is no visible difference, except on my face.
I'm glad you asked, it's been bothering me too. I was so proud of my legs until I noticed there is a distinctly hairless area on both calves haha. We just have to be patient, I'm sure it'll correct itself eventually.
