Congratulations, Sara!

The way I look at it is that your former self did his job well of protecting you until you go to this stage.  He is due for an honourable retirement now.  Be happy for him on his retirement.  He will live on in your memories.

Awesome news Sara!!  I think many of us have experienced that certain level of sadness for the death of our "male" identity. That said, the potential brightness of the future is something we can use to motivate ourselves to stay the course.  For me, I've found a number of trans folks, one woman in particular, who are ahead of me in the transition process and clearly living much happier lives, to serve as my inspiration.  It's really helped me keep my "eyes on the prize".

It is a transition :)

Congratulations, you are yourself and no one should try to make you something you are not. Just be yourself and remember to do the things you like to do and not what you think you should be doing.
