So I went up on my dose about a month ago and since then I have had another small drop in voice, a sprout of random hairs all over my body and slight body redistribution. HOWEVER, I have also begun to get much more greasy and a significant amount of face and chest acne. I have take up a very strict face and chest cleaning routine twice a day. I have been drinking more water and cutting out greasy fatty foods. I still am getting regular pimples around my chin, mouth and upper chest.
I've really enjoyed the sudden rush of changes that has come with my new dose but I really hate feeling so self contuse about my face and chest. I'm trying to figure out if my new dose is worth the skin issues and maybe going back down to ease up on the grease factory. I know it's not bad enough to involve a dermatologist, I really just have a few stray pimples and some light irritation but coming from near perfect skin, it feels like a big deal for me.
Has anyone else had to play around with they're dosage due to acne related discomfort?
I noticed more oil in the skin around the 6 months mark anyway, even without changing dose. Acne reports from people after several months on T seem common on the net. There's a chance you'll have to deal with acne whether you lower your dose or not. . .
Did you have any skin issues during your first puberty? I have heard that is a good indicator of what you might go through on T. It has been true for me. My levels don't seem to have much of an impact on it.
I think I had pretty darn good skin for a teenager but I did get the pesky breakout here and there but nothing on my chest like I do now. I never had any kind of face washing routine when I was younger and I pretty consistently have some pimple or irritation around my chin now despite washing my face twice a day or more.
If you wash your face too much it can try to overproduce oil. Get some charcoal soap and clear aloe vera.
I've always had bad acne (probably due to poor diet) but noticed it became worse on T. I used charoal soap for a few months but althoughit got rid of some redness the acne still developed. Then I used over the counter acne cream for a year which reduced some redness and some acne breaking out it didn't get rid opf the acne so much. Now I take antibiotics and prescribtion acne cream which has been the most effective, the acne is starting to disapear and so is the redness. Probably best to take antibiotics too if more natural methods don't work and to avoid developing acne scars.

I use Witch hazel twice a day. It's effective enough to wipe away surface dirt and oil but not enough to dry out the skin or remove sebum from the pores.
Lifelong acne sufferer here. So T just made my face and chest erupt. I always recommend a dermatologist. I hear people say it is not bad enough to go to one but that's exactly why you should go. Stay ahead of it. A small amount of topical cream prescription would probably clear you right up. A brand of facial cleanser called Cetaphil is excellent. They have an oil reducing one. They also make wipes for your face to blot throughout the day. Change your pillow case every other day. Don't use a wash rag and use a different towel for your face than your body. This also should be changed often. Grease and bacteria build up on those items and live on your face. I ended up doing a low dose of Accutane which wasn't fun but was a miracle worker. My doc reduced my T dosage a year ago and damn if my skin didn't break out after. Body acne is still gone but my face is hard to keep under control at times. But it's hormonal and genetic for me unfortunately.
