Title: "No longer making it" - story of my life!!!
Post by: Orchid on May 12, 2017, 06:19:24 PM
Alright, hey, so I ran into an issue just one hour ago. I started on injections, which work wonderfully, last November I believe. I started with castor oil injections, well I started with one which I found I was allergic to. Switched to sesame oil with this lifesaver of a pharmacy. I called so many pharmacies in my area and as well as stroheckers which is a bit away from where I live, none of which were willing to make sesame oil injections, so it was fantastic that this little place was able to do that for me.

Today I purchased my injections, found that they came from a different company (Perrigo), so I thought that was interesting. Came home, learned that it comes in the generic castor oil form. I'm not willing to see if I'm still allergic to it or not, so I'm stuck on where I'm supposed to go now, if there is literally -any pharmacy- out there who can help.

To get specific, I am in Kansas at the moment. I will be moving to the east coast later this summer, but until then I'm stuck figuring out this mess. Please help me, I need it. Thanks for reading.

I'm not a Doctor, and I'm not much known for common sense, either.   If you can't find a compounding pharmacy to make it for you, could you test a small area of your skin with castor oil? But for God's sake, don't let your dying words at the hospital be: "The Devyl made me do it!"

Hugs, Devlyn

Good news! There is one thing consistent in my life, and that is that I'm still allergic to castle oil! Woo! Ugh. This bites. I feel like I'm missing something around the corner. If there is some pharmacy that ships to my state, that'd be swell.

The amount of estrogen or testosterone in an injection is very small. Oil is used to bulk out the hormone and provide slow delivery. Without oil, the hormones would be quickly absorbed and injections would be required much more often.

Oh my goodness... this has been. Chaotic.

I have called I don't know how many pharmacies, but in that time I've found that no one makes things w/o castor oil anymore. Compounding pharmacy of America would be fantastic if their phone was working. This is a nightmare. I didn't think it was this difficult to get something going, but I guess it's a good learning experience. Anyway, you all were very helpful, I just feel kind of defeated is all...

Go to their website and contact them via email. I've never failed to have them contact me. I'm out of town right now, but if you cant get them to contact you, let me know and I'll see if I can't contact them for you and get them to get in touch with you.

I think the phone normally works- didn't realize they have an email, but I don't think my clinic likes doing extra work. Unfortunately. I'm moving to the east coast so I'll be in really good hands but st this moment this is what I'll be dealing with. I really appreciate your help, I will definitely use them asap.

Thank you for the link. (: I'll be sure to check them out sometime.

UPDATE --

Finally! I never realized how stressful this could be. A couple things have happened thus far that I thought I should talk about. The clinic I have been going to for a year and a half, more so the receptionists, have been unreasonable. For the past three weeks of me not having a refill, they have not cooperated with me in the slightest. I have had to come in person for things The nurses even advised could be done over the phone - my voice messages don't go to the nurses however. Apparently they never received any of them. Three weeks worth. Honestly I was disgusted at that point that I decided I'm going to get my medical records, and transfer to a new clinic entirely. I have never dealt with this much bs anywhere else, it was pointless, and they had no reason to prolong this. When I asked them for my records, it was then that they were proactive in their help. The day after, or the day of my complaint, a higher up called me to apologize and get my things ready to transfer.

I guess I have finally learned to not settle for things if I don't like it. Maybe it's not a big deal in general but for me it was a really important moment. I'm terrified of saying things I can't back up, so this went perfectly.
