Post by: Zombae on May 12, 2017, 07:57:54 PM
For those who have had thinning and hair loss pre hrt, id like to know of others who have experienced positive changes/effects in thier hair growth since having been on hrt, how long it personally took to regrow your hair and the types of medications/procedures people have done to regain thier hair back

Thank you

I had two bald areas on my temple. I didn't do anything except the HRT and they grew back. I don't remember how long it was before I noticed the areas. I think it was at least eight months.

I also started using some Rogaine on my forehead to lower my hairline. That seems to be working too.

I have thin hair, around. Norwood 2.5-3 with diffuse pattern balding across the top. I started on Finasteride in January and Estradiol and Spiro in close to a month ago now. I've been tracking my results with pictures monthly and at haircuts and I'm seeing some definite regrowth. It seems to be more so in the areas where I lost it more recently coming back faster. I just got it cut super short last week and compared it to my previous cut 3 months ago. I've got a long way to go, but I'm hoping that in the next 3-6 months I will be able to let it grow out. I've also been using minoxidil for years, and I'm taking amino acids, folic acid, biotin, and vitamins, as well as started dermarolling my scalp 6 weeks ago. If you're worried at all about your haiross get on it, it's totally possible to turn it around.

When I first started visiting Susan's Place, I had a buzz cut. One year later and after 9 months on HRT, my hair is to my shoulders in back and to the bottom of my face on the sides. I can now put it in a ponytail. I have been on medications for heart disease for a long, long time and my hair was becoming sparse with spots that were nearly bald. Not so now. It is now like my 70's Hippy days. These may not be your results, but it worked for me.

I have been on HRT for about 7-8 months now, man I'm bad with time, my bald spot is no longer noticeable if you aren't looking for it.  The area has shrunk to less than a 1/8 an inch diameter.  It is still pretty thin, but at least is going away, and only noticeable if you are looking for it.

In September 2015 I decided to Transition and I was sporting a number 1 buzz cut all over because I have MPB with bald spots either side of a wispy "skunktail" through the middle...not much there at all. Saw surgeon and he said that my head was a "follicle wasteland" and I went ahead with transplants...prior to HRT. Since starting HRT I have had a large amount of regrowth overall and my implanted hair has stimulated my scalp along with the HRT to push my dormant follicles into action.

The picture in my Avatar was taken when my second lot of implants was only 3 months old(not very long) the rest you can see in natural growth in 18months. Without the implants I would have a covering but not a very good one...not like it is currently.

I was sure I was destined to wear a wig the rest of my life but so far so good...my hair is actually a bit longer than that pic
