Need Technical support for Facebook on Android.
At the top of the news feed it reads "What's on your mind Dan?" Well I changed my Facebook name to Denise on March 3rd, setup a nickname at the same time. I can't find any reference to Dan anywhere in my profile. Anyone have the same experience?

I have the same issue but found no answer. So let's hope someone else can shed some light on this.

I ran into something with an old photo still being visible... can't remember the details, but it might have been I needed to update the Instagram profile photo or something.
In your case, my best guess is it sounds like something old is cached in your phone's FB app's cache or data store. If you can't find a good answer, you might try clearing the app's data...you might need to re-enter your passwords and stuff.
To clear the app's cache or data, from android phone it's Settings/Applications, then find/tap the Facebook app, tap Storage, and you'll see two buttons, one is Clear Cache, the other Clear Data. I'd do clear cache first then check. If you still see the stale data, you can try Clear Data afterwards... not sure how the FB app deals with Clear Data but it may clear your account settings/preferences so you have to re-enter passwords, set the app up, prefs and stuff... just keep that in mind.
If all else fails, I'd try removing and reinstalling the FB app though I'm not sure why that would fix anything that clear cache/data would not. Basically it sounds like you've made a good chance and it's taken online but not sync'ed with your phone for whatever reason.
All guesses on my part, try the above at your own risk!
Best of luck with it,
Ashley

I don't know android so well, but with iOS the data is stored with the app. Delete the app and any data stored with it is gone.

I just did that on my android phone and after a new installation everything is fine. So it was cached somewhere...

ONE BIG SMOOCH FOR YOU!
I didn't think of clearing all the data -that did it. I didn't need to reinstall, but I did need to sign back in.
THANK YOU!
So all of you gals kept your old Facebook profile after transitioning? How did you do it? did you delete all of your old male pictures? I'm guessing that would be a lot of work, especially removing the tags of pics others have taken of you.
I'm not stealth. That may change, but for now... That's the way it is.

I had no "real" FB profile. I was using another female name and after a while I decided to changed it to my real name and use it properly.
I have two FB profiles. My original male one, and one for this persona. One day FB locks my account until I could prove my real name. I had to show them a state ID. Needless to say it was a pain in the butt as I haven't changed my real name yet.
Without saying how exactly, I fixed the issue (showed them a driver's license)... but just be careful if you change the name on an existing profile. You might be better making a new one.

Don't do a lot with pictures so will probably delete those of just me. Changed name to my initials which will be the same after a legal name change.
