Hi everyone,
First of all I'd like to introduce myself, I'm a 23 years old Thai transgender and I think I'm ready and it's time for me to go through the biggest surgery in my life but right now I'm torn between these doctors. Dr. Burin (at PAI), Dr. Suporn, Dr. Kamol and Dr. Thiti - problem is it's almost impossible for me to find out more information about Dr. Burin or Dr. Suporn because for some reason Thai transgenders don't go to them as much as Europe/American transgender.
I would be greatly appreciated to hear about your experience or even your friend's experience with these doctors or if you have other doctors in mind who are in Thailand please let me know!
Thank you!
If you search here I think there's one or two posts on Dr Burin. Here's a couple, but I think there's more.

There's a good post here on PAI in general
My wonderful surgeries SRS, BA and FFS at PAI Bangkok

There's a YouTube video of Dr Thiti, with the title "Dr Thiti explains his SRS procedure". There's almost no information available about him.
If you search for "A collection of links to photos of SRS results" you'll find some more info on some Suporn and others.
Search for "SRS with Dr Suporn PDF Update" for a pdf on Suporn.
If you're a local I've heard you can get a discount with Suporn. He has a really long wait list, but maybe you can also take advantage of the last minute cancellations they get.

Hi there!
Thank you so much for all the information. So I should rephrase it when I said it's impossible to find more information about Dr. Burin and Dr. Suporn, I mean from my fellow Thai transgenders.
Love xx
I don't know about Dr Burin, but Suporn is much more expensive than all the other surgeons and has a very long wait list. I know he does have Thai patients, but it would explain why he's not so popular there. If you do some of those searches I suggested you'll find photo's of results.
I'm not sure there's actually any Thai people on this forum. Warlockmaker who made one of the posts I linked to lives there though.
I don't want to sound disrespectful to any Thai girls here. Im not insinuating anything, I'm genuinely interested in your perspective on the increasing number of Thai surgeons and the quality of their pracrices.
Are there GCS Dr's and clinics that offer cheap surgery to local girls and do good work or even terrible work for that matter. Ive seen some pretty shady looking websites and the site content was awful marketing garbage. I was trying to figure out their target audience and figured the sites were bad English translations of local Thai GCS Clinics.

Dr Thep is someone foreigners wouldn't go to. Really cheap though.

The difficulty with most surgeons is finding any photos of their work, or enough reviews to be confident of their consistency, rate and severity of problems, etc. Its a matter of risk.
I think it would be great to hear from more Thai girls about thier experiences. I'm sure the language barrier isnt helpful in that regard.

May I ask why Thai girls don't really go to Dr. Suporn? Also, have you thought about going to Dr. Chettawut? I've heard good things about him and many of the photos I've seen of his gcs are excellent.

Hi there,
From what I've heard it is because Dr. Suporn's SRS price is a bit too expensive for Thai girls. (Right now Dr. Thiti is very popular among Thai girls) A friend of mine has her SRS done with Dr. Suporn last year on July and she told me that there were only two Thai patients at Dr. Suporn Clinic in 2016.
I've been told that Dr. Suporn usually doesn't do Thai girls' cases, always tell them that he is fully booked for the year and all (because foreigners pay more for the SRS)

Hi there,
No worries! I would say Dr. Thep as well, he is very popular among Thai girls for breast augmentation, I believe it's only 50,000 THB for BA and probably 80K - 90K for SRS. The clinic looks a bit dodgy though but yeah he has been famous for BA for as far back as my memory goes.
I heard Dr. Kuldetch is very cheap too but he's in Hatyai (the south of Thailand) SRS only at 130,000 THB - he doesn't even have website.

He is fully booked for the year though, including foreigners. All this year and all next, and not open for bookings after that at the moment. I doubt it's due to any price difference either as he doesn't even have to offer that.

That makes me wonder. Other than Bowers and maybe Brassard, what other surgeons have a schedule like that. That is pretty amazing when you consider they haven't even opened up 2019 for scheduling yet.
In Thailand I think its unusual, but in the USA I have the impression that even new surgeons in the USA have rapidly increasing wait lists, due to demand and insurance. I think that's relatively new, but not sure.

I'm aware of a few of the handicaps that new surgeons are facing in the US system. They are fighting for OR time within the existing surgery schedules. As surgery goes GCS is a long and complex surgery that involves a sizeable surgical team. If they are working in a hospital network they also maintain a schedule of Non-GRS surgery in plastics or Urology. Building a practice and a reputation the hospital will support takes a considerable amount of time. Then there's the insurance approvals and restrictions that can add months to the process and pricing itself. If the surgeon is operating within the healthcare network and hospital it's almost impossible to negotiate a competitive cash price. If you've seen some of the insurance bills for GCS, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. The Monopoly Money billing is just absurd.
Those with their own facilities have more flexibility in scheduling and pricing, but they still have to establish themselves as competent and affordable GCS surgeons too. It all takes time.
There is one more issue that actually surprises me a bit. It's the fact that a large percentage of people who have the money or insurance don't have the required WPATH documentation completed when they schedule consultations.
