I've always been suspicious that maybe I was born intersex, as I've always been quite boyish, physically and otherwise. I know this is a pretty popular question, but how do I find out? I seem to have a lot of masculine characteristics for a female. For example, my clit is double the normal size, 1.5-2 inches erect, even though I'm a pretty petite sized woman (5'5", 110 pounds). I also have really broad shoulders, a lot of muscle definition in my arms/torso/upper body without working out, smallish breasts, big hands and feet, a low voice, am sexually interested in women, ejaculate easily, and grow coarse dark hair on parts of my chin, neck, and around my nipples. I have a normal functioning female reproductive system though. I've read books about intersex people (i.e. Herculine Barbin) who had testicles growing inside them for their entire life without their knowledge, so I'd really like to know either way. Do I just need to get a hormone test from a doctor, or do I need to be x-rayed and thoroughly examined?
When I went to the doctors, the doctor checked checked my hormone levels did x rays and an ultra sound. it came up that I am xxy with uterus an ovaries.

Well at first i went to a regular GP than he sent me to an endocrinologist that a specialist in this because it did not make sense to my regular GP. It depends on how comfortable your regular Doctor is with diagnosing this.

I believe you could also get a referral to a genetic counselor.
