Title: Breast Agmentation
Post by: Alora on June 08, 2017, 09:19:55 AM
Hey ladies,

So I've been thinking about BAs more and more lately, especially since I got some unpleasant news about my bottom surgery.

My question is... how long were you on hormones before you decided to get your BA?

The 28th will mark 6 months on hormones. I am thinking of possibly having this procedure done around December. I will be close to 1yr on hormones at that time. I know it's recommended to wait at least 18 months, but I don't know.

Any advise, stories, experiences about what to expect would be incredibly helpful.

Most the stuff I have seen said 2 years min, but close enough. I personally don't like the idea of implants, fat transfer seems like a better deal. However, to each their own. My personal opinion on breast augmentation in the mean time, is decide what's most important to you... boobs or va-jj. From personal experience, money seems to disappear from my accounts that's set aside for surgeries before I get what I really want if I splurge on items it wasn't intended for. I'd be set further back by spending bottom surgery money on breasts. And you never know, you may get the boobs you want naturally after bottom surger.  My priorities was hair first, I was going to have hair restoration front and back of my head. I was told to wait on the back... give the medications time and 1 year later I saved myself $15,000 because it's growing in on it's own. I did do the front because the doctor said that he could already see where it wasn't going to grow back ever, and he wanted me to start there.

Hi,
My breasts continued developing for more than three years.  I was a 'B' cup at two years and a 'C' cup by the end of three.  The only advice that I can give is that it is important to let nature have her way before seeking surgical remedies.  Implants interfere with breast imaging and believe it or not mammograms are beautiful to see as the duct structures (density) reveal themselves.

Enjoy the changes as they occur and know that they will continue for some time.  Patience is a virtue in transition.

Peace,
Julie

I did my BA after a couple years on HRT.  After my BA my mammogram technician told me my breast were still growing when she compared to the year prior.  They are still getting bigger.  I am ok with that, and am not worried about having big boobs.  Cup size was/is not my concern.  My concern was proportion of breast to my chest size.  My breast tissue was never going to be wide enough at the chest wall to look proportional, so an implant took care of that.

I say all of this to tell you that a specific wait time for when to get the BA after starting HRT is completely relative to the individual's response to that with breast development.  There is no proper wait time.  My breasts developed more after adding progesterone (well after my BA).  If your HRT does not include that, then how can a specific wait time be considered completed, for instance?  But others do not respond to progesterone....so that may not factor in at all!  Too many variables to declare a specific wait time.  I would only say do HRT and see what develops, then maybe adjust/change your regimen to see what more changes you can effect from it.  Then see if you think a BA is right for you.  You are the judge. :)

You already know a year is not long enough for the HRT to work.

I have been on HRT 27 months now and my boobs are still filling in.  I had my breast augmentation done after 6 months on HRT.  I went with Mentor 500 CC Medium Profile Plus implants.  I was an A and now I am a C/D.  I have been very happy with my implants and am so glad I didn't wait to get them.

I was concerned about getting them after only 6 months on HRT.  I had a lot of questions about what if I grew naturally?  Will the shape be ok a few years down the line?  How will my nipples be?  My doctor, Dr. Harrison Lee, told me not to worry because he had done a lot of implants on trans women and knew how to properly place the implants.  My therapist, Dr. Christine Milrod (who is a WPATH member and has helped thousands of girls transition), told me to not worry about the length of time I was on HRT before getting my implants.  I've posted a lot of pictures of how they look today and I am glad to say I am very happy I didn't wait 2 years to get mine.

It is an individual decision and you have a lot to think about.  Good luck girl!

Thanks Jess. This is kind of where I'm at. I have a very point small A cup. I am fighting with my Dr try to get my E dose raised. I have an appointment middle of next week and I plan on bringing up adding Progesterone use to my regiment. I really want a very full C or D. I have a very broad shoulder and chest and I just feel that anything smaller would just look off.

Sure I have lots of questions, right now I'm just trying to figure out which providers will take my insurance. It's a nightmare. I hate insurance companies.

Thanks again.

you shouldn't add progesterone till your atleast a year on hormones because for natural born women the progesterone doesn't even start kicking in till they are about stage 3-4 in tanner stage breast development.

I am looking for ways to either stimulate growth or accept that naturally large breast are not in my future. I feel like I have stalled in my development. And I'm seeking options.

I started this thread to hear primarily from women who are in the process of getting their BA or have had theirs done already to get their thoughts.

I struggling with some very strong body issues at the moment and I'm looking for options and hope.

you didn't stall. I didn't hit a B cup until 15 months. Progesterone doesn't help growth,it rounds out your breasts.

Breast development in ciswomen takes years, around 4-5, up to 7 and during a woman's lifetime, they will regress and sometimes grow significantly depending on the hormonal environment. 1 yr after HRT is too early, IMHO. There is no evidence showing unequivocally that taking a progestogen at the onset of HRT is detrimental to breast growth.

I am scheduled for a BA 7/17/17. 550 cohesive silicone over the muscle. I am 6'1" 203 pounds. I am a 40 A cup. I have been on HRT for a little over 4 years. I was supposed to have my BA with GCS but due to an issue with GCS they delayed the second procedure. I noticed a little filling out of my breasts since GCS about 7 months ago even though I lost 17 pounds and went off P.

If my coming out at work and trying to remain married did not delay me I would have had a BA when I was on HRT 2 years. My plan was face, GCS with BA then hair (front and middle done), then voice and perhaps adam's apple then back of head hair. Maybe some contouring, which would be last.

Breasts are something that when done need attention periodically, every 7 or so years, and a revision in your future could alter the size up or down. So If I was asked, I would say go for it if it makes you happy and or relieves some pressure.
