Title: Convincing parents I need to transition?
Post by: Junkrat on June 09, 2017, 12:13:39 AM
I came out to almost everyone I know as FtM transgender on 31 May 2017, so 9 days ago. My dysphoria has been pretty bad the past couple months, which is one of the reasons I came out. I thought coming out would lessen the dysphoria and secretive-ness that can come with being trans, but instead the dysphoria has gotten so much worse, to the point where I'm getting extreme anxiety whenever I leave the house (when I do leave the house at all) because I know I don't pass. A few days after coming out, I explained to my mom about transitioning and hormones. She's super "on the fence" about it still. Does anyone have any resources for parents regarding transitioning, particularly with T? Thank you!

I really think you can't go wrong by spending a little time in the site WiKi (https://www.susans.org/wiki/Main_Page). It covers most subjects that you can think of and there is no need to purchase anything. After that, we have  a Significant Other section (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,26.0.html) where you mother could talk with us and come to a better understanding about being transgender.
