Title: Ultrasound - dun dun dun...
Post by: FrankNstein on June 21, 2017, 09:33:34 PM
Hey all! So I've been having ovary pain and scheduled an ultrasound to check it out. I'm pretty sure it's cysts since I had them prior to my transition, but my concern is my stomach is now part bear haha. If any of you have done something similiar, any suggestions? I definitely don't want to completely shave since I feel like that makes it more obvious and I don't want to have to hide my body anymore. Maybe trim... but I'd appreciate hearing how you guys handled the situation. I want to be prepared for the awkward that id's to come.

Honestly, I'd just tell them that you're transgender.  But then again, I made sure that all of my doctors are well aware of that fact.  They are the one group of people that I will never hide my transgender-ness from.  My health is more important to me than being stealth to those that only want me to be healthy. This is a case where the doctors should be made aware of the fact you are on T as it may be required to determine the type of cyst you are dealing with. Without this information, they might also scan for evidence that you are intersex. They are medical personal and should have some training in dealing with transgenders. My advice is to tell them and don't worry about it.
