Title: Hello from the UK!
Post by: KatieC on June 24, 2017, 02:31:40 PM
Hi all, I've been directed here a few times from Google searches and ->-bleeped-<- and thought I should make an account and say hello.

I'm not really using my chosen name yet but it's Katie, I'm 29 from Greater Manchester UK. I work as a programmer/developer and I am not currently out to anyone other than my CIS wife, sisters and a couple of select friends.

I'm early in my transition and currently almost a month into HRT.

So that's me, I hope to contribute to the forum in the near future. :-)

Thank you, I think support wise I haven't got what I need. My marriage is possibly over, but I'm happier now than I have been in a long time in my relatively short marriage so hey ho.

Welcome, Katie! Thanks for sharing your story. This place is an amazing place, so much to learn from others, and a lot of support by just reading the experiences of others.

You are not alone on this amazing journey of becoming who you are. There will be a price to pay, but we have all already paid higher prices to hide our authentic self. The price to be our true self, will be worth every cent.

Katie,

So sorry this has gotten to you so late. Welcome to the site.

Thanks for sharing you story. It is a brave thing to do. I am sorry about your wife. It is amazing how different we are after coming to grips with who we should be.

Hi Katie - welcome to the site!  Good to have another Brit joining the party

I'm sorry to hear things are not so good at home but at least it sounds like you have the start of a good support group to help you move forward

Hi Katie, and welcome!

Congratulations on HRT and coming out to a few people.  Sorry to hear this may have contributed to issues with your marriage, but it is so great being able to move forward with your future and be yourself.  In the field you work in I imagine you are good at sorting through information, figuring out what matters the most and making a decision.

I wish I had found this site earlier - it's more than a site, this has become a bunch of friends and family in my transition.  I hope to be able to do the same for others.  We are each a bit unique but we have so much in common.

Kendra
