Well went camping at the Hot Rod/ drag meeting this weekend. Pitched up next to one of the lads and his wife from the club I am in. Got asked whats all this painted nails ect (was going to tell anyways) so told them and have full support. But they said I was brave to do what I am doing, now I think it would be brave if I stayed as I was. As we were talking I said shame I have put a skirt in (was in ladies jeans and sandals) and his wife said wear it what can happen. I had bought an event T shirt , ladies xl so wore that and the denim skirt with 3/4 leggings to the bar and went to see band in tent . No comments, stares or any thing so the next night wore the same with my breast forms in and still no problems. What fun dancing with breasts , that's a new experience for me and loving it. Did a rookie mistake though, put sun cream on and forgot wearing sandals, so have a "nice" diamond tattoo in bright red on tops of feet and its sore. Walked around today in event T , 3/4 cropped jeans wearing a T shirt bra and talking to people I know and they all said your brave, TBH don't know how to take that but don't think anyone was being nasty. So had a wonderful break , made a new friend (lots of girl to girl hugs) and fixed Nicks hot rod and every one excepting my life choice.
Way to go, Davina! That was nice that your friends were supportive.
Good choice on the denim skirt. Back before I figured out that I was trans, I lurked on a forum for men who liked to wear skirts but did not consider themselves crossdressers. The standard wisdom there was that denim was essentially invisible, so is a "safe" choice for a person's first time out in a skirt.
Awesome, hon! I've been there with the geometric sunburn! I don't take exception to the remarks about being brave. To the average person going against the grain just isn't done. I think they're just admiring our determination. That's what shines the brightest in a transgender person. :)
Hugs, Devlyn

Huh! I know guys like that from the transgender dances. I didn't know they had a site until now.

Talking to Jill , a member of our hot rod club (known her for 38 years) and I said its ironic (in tent watching band) I am the only one in here wearing a skirt and she had not noticed!!

Surely you jest? Enough sunshine in Britain to get a sunburn ??? :D
I kid.....but it's not a "rookie mistake". I see it all the time here. Welcome to girl world.
Wow Davina your post has made me smile, sounds like you had a dam good time hopefully this will spur you on to dress more in public now.
Was you at stanta pod if I was to wear a demon skirt were I live I would be burnt at the stake, were you really lucky enough to have sunshine to get burnt. Sad Sara x
No not the pod Shakespeare County Race way or Long Marston as us old timers still call it. It was windy, showery a bit but when the sun came out it was HOT . Back of my neck , T shirt V and arms all red even with sun block. Just burn not brown for me

Hey Davina!!!..
Doing the things you enjoy with nothing to hide... Being accepted as who you are... Hard to beat!!!... Congrats Sister!!! :)
Ashley :)
Love it!! Just you doing you, that's how it should be. So glad they're accepting and this has been a positive experience for you. Hopefully this is another step on your path of progressing to being true to that woman you've hidden inside for so long. Super happy for you girl!!
Don't you love it when a plan comes together! Good for you Davina.
Peace and love and all that good stuff,
Sadie
Worst bit is looks like I have put on 4lbs over 3 days, cooked breakfasts, beer , wine, and bourbon, curries ect and lazing about. Now need to lose 26lb before end of October.
Davina,
Congratulations young lady!
You rock!!
You have discovered the 'secret' - being yourself is the only law.
went to my mums this afternoon dressed in 3/4 jeans, T shirt with bra that showed, hoodie that's a nice ladies one and wearing sandals with painted nails and carrying a handbag. So they are putting scaffolding up on the flats and had to walk past the lads, they were buff striped to the waste and wearing shorts. Thinking this could be awkward but no not a flicker or stare , make you want to do more.

Heck, yes, girl!
If you are presenting a plausible appearance, i.e. you are wearing what any other woman in that situation might wear, most people won't even give you a second glance. All that worrying for nothing, eh?
