Title: Self Help
Post by: Wild Flower on June 25, 2017, 04:06:19 PM
I'm seeing a psychiatrist at the moment (not yet for transitioning; don't think it's wise just yet because of my job). I consider that as one form; might form of self-help, but it's not enough. As far as true friends, I don't have any, so I becoming more "religious", and use the deck of tarot cards as a companion to my life problems. I take it as more advice than absolutes, but they reinforce my subconscious with validation.

How do you use for self help in life?

I might have to get one; psychologist at least. I just started anti-depressants 5 days ago (won't say what; against forum rules), it takes a month to see results. I been so depress miserable that it is affecting my job. My job is beginning to threaten me if I make ONE more mistake, then I might lose some pay / seniority *I won't lose my job; but still that is no good, cause then I'll be stuck here even longer! That would end up being a 6 month dilemma*.  I know that they can't fire me if I am transgender, but that takes a lot of strength, and I feel comfortable doing that at another location. But also, they don't make the ultimate decision to me to do that.

**By one more mistake, being late or something. As long as I go to work on time I'm safe.

Cigarettes and coffee (or diet energy drinks; seldom warm teas) helps too, but that's not healthy, but it beats binging on junk food.

My job is my everything. So I am investing in everything right now to prevent negativity from happening to me. I told them it's all mental illness **this job is not civilian, so the job can accommodate for that**. But they're unforgiving about mistakes too...
