Title: FTM HRT Appointments as a Minor
Post by: aydeny on June 28, 2017, 10:29:14 AM
I'm looking to start T, and the endocrinologist I plan on going to requires 2 appointments before you start taking testosterone: an initial visit for bloodwork and receiving your prescription, and another appointment shortly after where they show you how to do your shot and you start taking T. I was wondering if a parent would need to be present for both appointments or if they could come to the first appointment and I could go to the second myself?

That's a question to ask your doctors office. I'm sure a medical assistant or nurse could probably answer that over the phone. It's likely you would need to have your parents fill out some form of consent since you are a minor but that might have to do with specific laws for wherever you live. I would doubt that they would actually have to go in with you other than that.
