Title: Question for Dr. Spiegel/any FFS patients
Post by: scrumptioussoda on July 08, 2017, 03:16:16 PM
Hi, I had FFS last week and I feel really stupid asking this, but I forgot how to do the massages for your nose (after rhinoplasty), and your jawline (after mandible contouring) to reduce swelling. Could someone articulate to me how to do these massages so I don't have to wait until Monday to ask the office? I was supposed to start the massages today.

You grip the tip of your nose with 3 fingers and squeeze. Slowly slide towards your face allowing your nose to separate your fingers. Repeat 5 times twice a day.

For jaw you slide fingers along the side from the middle towards your ear

I had rhinoplasty and agree with the above procedure for the nose. I did this for 3 months. Not massaging your nose may give you a larger tip of your nose.

I have not had any work done on my jaw.

I went to Spiegel and everything but my nose needed work. I do not remember a massage specific for my jaw. I do remember reading in his packet to massage areas that have bumps to break them up sooner than them dissolving and reabsorbing on their own.
