I'm going to go see my therapist and restart my journey...it's so hard for me to try to stay strong and this is where I'm asking for guidance from those of you who have been thru it...will you please give me a step by step of how you made it to where you are today
Hugs JJ
Everybody's list is different depending on their requirements and their abilities. Mine reads something like this and there are sections for just about any topic you have questions about.

Get another job to pay for all this in 1980

Wow Dena that's a very positive insight...clearly you didn't get what you wanted all at once you had to keep pushing and invest the time it took

Without the internet, the biggest problem and the most valuable item was information. It wasn't until I found my third therapist in 1978 that I was in a group and then information was plentiful. If somebody is really determined, the process could be shortened to a year and a half to two years. All the information you could require is posted or can be found with a few questions. Others on the site who transitioned about the same time as me had a little more luck and went through the process faster but there are also people on the site my age who are just starting their transition.
