Title: FFS Consult - Facial Team
Post by: reignat on July 12, 2017, 03:20:31 PM
Hey everyone,

I have an in-person consult with Dr. Capitan from FacialTeam on 27th Jul in NYC. Those of you who have had FFS with FT before, what do you think would be the most important question that I should ask him. I mean, I do have a set of questions for my consult based on my own preferences and facial bone structure; but based on your experiences, is there anything important that I should clear up during my consult with him that would help me take an informed decision? Would facial x-rays help? I haven't done my facial x-rays yet.

Appreciate your help! Thanks :)

P.S. It'll be 1 year this July 15 since I started hormones.

Hi, reignat!

I see you found the FFS forum.  This is the best place to ask your questions.

While I have had an initial consult for FFS, it was with Kaiser NorCal, not FacialTeam, so I don't have any good stuff to share.

Instead, I thought I'd welcome you to Susan's Place, offer a suggestion, and give you some information.

* We'd like to get to know you!  Try posting a little bit about yourself in a new topic just for yourself, over in our Introductions forum. (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,8.0.html) Tell us your story, how you came to join our family, life lessons learned, and tell us what makes the world a special place for you.

I hope you feel welcome here.

A Cautionary Note:
Please try to remember when posting that The Internet Never Forgets, and the various web crawlers and archival sites out there somewhere make sure of this.

This is a public forum. We cannot insure that any information shared on the site will be protected from public view and/or copying or reproduction.  There is no way to guarantee that automated image and writing style analyzers out there won't see and process your post.

Do not share anything on Susan's that you do not want to be public information.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to take a look, please take a moment to go through them.

Things that you should read

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

Well, it depends really on how much you already know. If you still want to find out what you need to be done, or if you already have decided and want to discuss details. I brought facial XRays but that did not change anything. I believe they will need to do the 3D scan in Marbella to assess details of bone structure. They always do type 3 forehead, AFAIK, so it does not matter to them if you have a X ray of the forehead.
The consultations are usually about 30 min, so its limited time to ask questions. If you start with what you need and what would look good, it will take a bit off that time. If they have Alexandra with them to do simulation photos, that will take a while, too. If you already know some things, you have more time to discuss in detail what you want to get done and if this is what they also want to do. I believe these consultations in other cities are called "orientation" to reflect that it is only a short and quick assessment and not as comprehensive as possible.
I would say, if you already know what parts of the face need to be changed, skip the intro where they try to assess your face in that respect and also skip the basics where they explain about what is done in FFS (I bet you already know how a type 3 forehead works, surgically) and go right into your question list. Make a list and try to work through it.
