Hello everyone, Claudia here.
Ok so I may have a bit of a stupid question, however I ask as I am unsure.
So as I understand your skin will change as time goes by due to hrt (honestly really looking forward to softer skin.) and for some time I have wanted a tattoo on my back (fyi its the Mirror's Edge circuit board tattoo that Faith has on her arm, can't help it such a geek.). My question is if I can get the tattoo now, or or should I wait a while while on hrt will the skin change affect anything? As I said, may be a dumb Q, I am full of them but always eager to learn something new. :-)
Many thanks everyone!
Lol <3, Claudia92 :-)
Hey there. None of my old tattoos from my past life has changed with HRT. Last one was a little over a year ago. I'm scheduled to get my first one on my much softer skin in a couple weeks.
I've been on E for a little over 6 months now. I love my tats and I love my new softer skin. Just make sure you take good care of your tat during the healing process.

Hi Claudia and welcome to the forum!!!
I don't have any tattoos but the one thing that comes to mind is less about the actual skin quality but more about how the tattoo would appear if you have a lot of upper body muscle loss like I have over the years... 25-30 lbs and most of that in the first year on hormones and much of it back muscle from surfing... It seems like it might be like drawing a picture on a balloon and then letting half the air out... It might not end up looking like you had intended....
Onward we go!!!
Ashley :)
I got a full side piece, another one one on my other hip, lettering on my other ribs, and one on my upper breast all while on full HRT and had no issues whatsoever. Some of them were before SRS with spiro, and other were after without. Makes no difference. Go get your ink!
Thanks Alora, Ashley & Ainsley for your replies!
This is great and good to know, I will be getting a new job soon so I might get the tattoo here soon depending upon the below. Regarding what you said Ashley about muscle mass I had not taken that into consideration, partly why I ask as I am so new to all of this. :P
I currently weigh about 140 pounds and I am about 5 feet 5 inches tall, and my wrists are fairly small at only 2.25 inches wide. If you all think I will be ok with no stretching or shrinking then I will go ahead, if you think I should wait, I will gladly head any and all input.
You all are so awesome and supportive, thanks for being here!
Claudia.
I lost 40 lbs after a couple of my tats and they still look fab. But, wait, SO DO I !! Holla!

Thats great to hear Ainsley, now I am really looking toward getting mine! And I agree you look fab, would hope one day I would look at least half as fab. Goals to work toward! Awesome again, you all made my day, Chears!

Aw, you're very sweet, Claudia! I am my biggest critic, so I tell myself I look fab to quash my inner critic voice. lol But, I appreciate your kindness!
I have 4 tats all before HRT and there has been no issue. They are on my tummy and thighs and on my hip.

I am with you, I too am my biggest and worst critic. Even though I have always believed to stay positive and to be able laugh at ones self and also with the world. As I have always felt that if I could not laugh I would be liable to break.
I was also raised to mean what I say and say what I mean, so though I always try and be as kind as possible I also mean it.
Cheers Ainsley!
P.S. If you want feel free to add me, if not np. =)
Something else to think about is some people have reported a lower tolerance for pain while being on HRT. I don't have any tattoos nor have I started HRT yet.

Hi Claudia!
There's a "Buddies List" in the user's profile if that is what you're thinking of!
A :)
Body changes in fat and muscle, as TG stated, may effect existing or future tattoos. Tattoos may change as you lose muscle and fat is redistributed under HRT. So, under HRT, just know your body will change, and tattooing may be a bit risky for some. Not all people change dramatically with HRT, some change very little, some change quite a bit. No standard there. If moving to MtF, just don't tat the muscle areas ... they will shrink! Your back is prolly fine, though. Good luck and post a pic of the back tattoo! :)
