Title: Beard color
Post by: Jared on July 14, 2017, 09:47:20 AM
Hey everyone, I've been on T for about 4 or 5 years and my beard color is so colorless that if I don't dye it, it's kinda invisible. I'm afraid that won't change on it's own. Do you have any recommendations to make it a "normal" color except hair dye? I'm sick of doing it and I can't have just stubble. Btw I'm blonde, but my body hair is almost black. Weird.

I am a blonde also and have the same issue.  If I went without shaving no one would notice unless they touched my face.

Same for me. I can grow a decent beard, without patches it's just not visible :')

I don't know if you are including this but there is a product called just for men that you brush into a beard or mustache. The product has been around for a long time so it must produce reasonable results. If you google it, you should get enough hits to evaluate how it will work for you.

Yes, thank you I've heard of that, however I'm looking for something I don't need to keep doing. I know probably something like that doesn't exist, I'm just hoping someone had luck with some stuff. For example for hair growth there's minoxidil, it would be great if there would be something for permanently darkening hairs.

Beard hair is similar to hair on your head. It cannot be permanently changed to the colour you prefer. If that were possible, all the hair dressers would get a serious pay cut, since dying hair is big business and it has to be repeated as the hair grows out.

Beards are, alas the same: as the beard grows, the new growth will have the colour as determined by your genetics.

I can't wait to see what my beard will look like, since my leg hair is dark, my arm and other body hair is so blonde that is barely visible except in strong light. I could end up with patchy coloured beard and I'll be out there buying beard dye  ;D

I have medium brown hair with a little gray, but my body hair dark brown/black, arm hair invisi-blond, and facial hair...to-be-determined. My father's beard was red...despite him not having red hair (dark brown). So I'm guessing for me anything could happen. Just please don't let it be gray already!

Sorry. I know that's not helpful. I just can't think of anything you could do that would help darken your beard. :(

Yeah Dan I know, I just can't accept that my beard can't look similar to my hair. It's darker blonde, all my body hair are almost black and then there's my beard... My dad had brown hair and brown beard.
When I was at my barber, a grey haired man said that there's a shampoo that gives the original color back if you use it and the barber said she knows it too and it's good. There are so many stuff for so many problems, why not to this? :D
Let's hope you guys won't have the same problem as I do ;)
