Hey! I identify as nonbinary but more masculine than andro. Lately, ive been seeing testosterone booster pills in the vitamin sections of grocery stores, and i cant say it hasnt made me curious.
i am unable to start HRT yet, as i want to come out to my family before then (i live with them, so theyd notice the changes) but i wanted to know if anyone had any opinions on testosterone boosters? Ive tried researching online and have not found any sources that really give me a straight answer.
If the boosters do work, would there be visible/vocal changes at all? would it increase hair and deepen my voice similar to having injections of testosterone?
Does anyone have experience with testosterone booster pills/have medical information on them? Thank you so much!!
I suspect that testosterone booster pills don't work or make much difference but even if they did, you would have to have testosterone to boost in the first place. The MTF's play this game all the time and while there are a few plants with feminization power, they are not very potent and there is a fair amount of danger associated with them. Your best bet would be to wait until you can see a doctor. Under proper treatment, you will start seeing changes in 1-2 months. Also you should be aware that testosterone is a very powerful hormone and you should be willing to experience all the changes that could take place. Take it from somebody who has spent years attempting to undo the effects of testosterone.
very true Dena!! Thank you for the input, i need to think of how to come out soon :embarrassed:
The booster pills, like Dena said, won't really do anything for you as a natal female. Frankly, there's only anecdotal evidence they do much for males, either.
Think of the booster pills and products like an expansion pack for a game: If you don't have the game installed, it's going to be useless to you.
