My brother and I were at target. He went to get some stuff for his car. As usual with him he can spend a hour looking for car stuff or whatever but when I want to look at stuff I'm wasting time. So I was looking at leggings and he came over and said he got what he needed and he was ready to go. I told him to chill out for a minute while I finished looking. He started with the long sighs and eye rolling. There was this woman within hearing distance and she kept looking over and giving him dirty looks. Finally he said if I didn't hurry up and pick one he was going to slap the taste out of my mouth. I told him to just chill out. So a couple of minutes later I got the leggings I wanted and he said lets go. I told him I just needed to get another liquid eyeliner then we could go. He got annoyed like usual and he said " you don't need eyeliner because I'm going to give you two black eyes if you don't hurry up." Then out of nowhere this really huge guy is in my brothers face. He told him he was a big man giving a woman black eyes. Then he kind of shoved him and told him he was going to wait at the exit until he came out and beat the crap out of him and called him a punk ass bitch. I almost had a heart attack! My brother isn't small but this guy would have killed him.Tyler told him I was his sister and that he always said things like that to me and that he didn't actually mean it. I told the guy it was true. So the guy calmed down a little but told my brother saying stuff like that to any woman was a good way to get his ass kicked. It was obvious he was the boyfriend of the woman who was giving Tyler the dirty looks. All I can think of was that she must have gone and gotten him after she heard Tyler say he was going to slap the taste out of my mouth. The whole thing kind of freaked us both out. My brother has always said stuff like that to me but he has never and would never really do any of that stuff to me. But I guess he needs to watch what he says in public. Even though I was afraid that guy was going to hurt my brother I am glad people are willing to get involved if they think a woman is being abused.

I bet your brother will be more respectful the next few times in public.
Just imagine the look on your brother's face if you hadn't claimed him.
Julia, it looks like you saved your brother's life.
I find it to be rare when anyone makes any statement that could be construed as a threat, but then... I live in Texas, where you never know who is armed.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Also, congrats on totally passing in public!
Jeez, more than being careful with what is said in public, you might meed to get your brother tied to leash when going outside home :D

Lol. A leash and a muzzle.
I would hope he is actually protective of you contrary to the comments.

He has always been protective. Actually he gets over protective some times. He's always said stuff like that. I think the problem was that though he didn't mean it he did sound dead serious when he said it.
A perfect example of how "words matter"
Yeah....my best friend and I say really awful things to each other that would seem inappropriate or even mentally abusive if someone who didn't know our relationship over heard and we don't have filters so we're like this everywhere we go....Now that I'm on T and will start passing soon though I'm really going to have to watch my mouth because I don't want something like that to happen to me when my best friend and I are just joking around.
She also told me that I couldn't say the word the t work for boobies anymore...because while she doesn't care other people might. ;__; It's such a good word.
As someone who is known to get a little sassy, this kind of thing was a typical exchange between me and my guy friends in the past. We'd threaten to kick each other's @$$ all the time.
I personally find this type of white knight, good guy patrols to be absolutely annoying. Until hands are laid on the woman, there's no need for it. It's called "banter". Some people need to lighten up.
Wow glad things didnt escalate. It makes me think twice now about what I say out loud in public because I can be very vocal. Never know who is listening.
