Seriously. Not much to add to this, talk about cart before horse! One from therapist, one from my GP, to see an endocrinologist. But the hormones I obtained in a day. Will be seeing both the therapist and GP shortly anyway, so things are happening, at least. I'm in Oregon, in the US.
???
Yeah, I zoomed through the informed consent process, too. When my body pointed out that it doesn't like spiro, my doctor suggested an orchiectomy, which I agreed to. Howwwwwever, now I need a fistful of letters to get that done.
Hugs, Devlyn
Doctors worry about lawsuits, hence the demand for CYA letters. Even with the IC route for me when I decided to go legit after 5 years on HRT, he wanted a permission slip from my therapist. One of the few times I've been in high anxiety mode... waiting for her to give it me as it passed up and down the food chain of the group she worked for. That high anxiety experience spoke volumes to me as to where on the spectrum I was :o
I have to find a new doc again and/or an endo. Followed by the pain of Horizon BCBS Again denying me under the "gender" clause for the E. A yearly ritual with them adding weeks of delay in getting a tight leash monthly scrip filled. Not exactly something I looking forward to.
You don't need a letter for anything, its just what the doctor you're seeing wants to put you through. You can even get genital surgery without a letter from at least one surgeon.
dr arnkov is awesome and doesnt require any letters i think it was 3k i got mine done and it healed awesome check him at myorchie.com
