So I am highly intrested in American politics even though I am Canadian. I have been intrested ever since 2008 and have moved all around the map. First supporting John McCain in 2008 and most recently Hiliary Clinton in 2016 (though i strongly wanted Bernie during the DNC primary). After, what I would consider a very successful Presidency from Barack Obama Americans were still eagar for some change from an outsider. So they went for Trump.
However, seeing How Trumps approval rating has been taking a hit (33% latlest poll), you would expect the Democrats to be jumping up and down looking for candiates. Many important ones said they will not do it: Eleibeth Warren (my personal choice), Gavin Newsom (another personal choice) ,Al Gore, Andrew Coumo and Al Franken. As much as I still like Bernie Sanders , at age 79 I doubt many people would vote for him due to fears of age or misconceptions of age (ageist-ness)
One name being kicked around latley has been California Senator Kamala Harris. I have heard good things about her but also many doubts about her. Personally, althought I at the end of the day wouldnt let someones gender decided my final vote of support, but I do think it is way past time for a female to be in office. I still wonder if sexism would pervent her. Now, most Americans seem willing to elected a female President (ex: Hilarys popular vote vs Donalds). But I have heard that in some parts of America, sexism still does exsit. Though it has gotten much better over the years, i have heard it is real. I have heard that there were some people who were put off by Clinton for many reasons that make sense (establishment, connected family name, being investigated, ect,ect) but also things that didnt make sense, that a few people were really intimidtaed by a strong female in the most powerful office in the world. Also, given some mentalities it makes me wonder if I will ever see a Trans or even G/L President in my life time.
Ah, in any case what are your opinions of Harris and do you think she would stand a chance against Donald Trump should he run or agaisnt a generic Republican?

Kamala Harris has zero integrity (read about her relationship with Steven Mnuchin and OneWest). I do not think anyone left of center would be willing to overlook that. She says all the right things to win them over with her socialist nonsense, but dig a little bit and she's not the Democratic messiah they've all been waiting for.
I would bet money that Cory Booker will be a candidate if not the next nominee. He's in bed with Wall Street, but the relationship is obvious and based on proximity to his jurisdiction I'm honestly not sure it could be avoided.
I've seen progressives already calling her out and being shut down by HRC supporters who immediately call those who are critical of Harris' policy positions/history sexist. I think she is extremely questionable and it just shows that the Democratic party still aren't listening. I think Nina Turner or Tulsi Gabbard are better options if it were a woman to take office, that's from a left pov. I think Bernie could still run and win, despite his age which shouldn't even be a factor.

I think Kamala Harris is fundamentally a good person, prone to occasionally taking the easy way out and making a poor choice. Of course, I also think that HRC is fundamentally a good organization, although prone to occasionally taking the easy way out and making a poor choice.
I'd worry about being thrown under the bus (again) by either if that became an easy option to score a big win elsewhere.
