Title: OTK Boots
Post by: LilyMelody on August 09, 2017, 11:20:08 AM
Any ladies (or guys and NB folks and so on  :) ) here fans of OTK boots?

I think they are my favourite fashion item ever.

Hi LilyMelody

My preference lies a bit lower... I love just below the knee but to each their own.

  Hugs,

Sometimes I am clumsy, wish mine protected above the knee when that happens.

Or I could say it's a point of view.  Below the knee when I am upside down.

I'll probably get a pair this year. Not gonna lie, I have great pins and belong in stuff like this.  ;D

It is not just you. This thread is too new to conclude anything.
You have only had one serious answer. That other person though a wonderful person is still somewhat demented. (love ya Kendra)

 :D

Alright here is a more complete answer so Laurie might stop saying things about me that are true.  Although we do need to swap the location of wonderful and somewhat in the description.

In Japan this is called 絶対領域, the term translates to "absolute territory" if we are talking about OTK boots, stockings or equivalent - and a skirt.  The distance has been analyzed by clever grasshoppers and a formula derived of 4:1:2.5.  The laws of physics meet biology, also known as the Golden Ratio.

4.0 = skirt length ratio
1.0 = proportion of skin showing between boot and skirt
2.5 = ratio covered above the knee

I have looked at some of Leonardo DaVinci's drawings but alas, while the Italians gave the world so much greatness (ballet, the violin, and cars that leak oil) the Codex Leicester which is owned by one of my neighbors contains none of this magic.  (That particular neighbor started a software company in 1975 that provides unparalleled support for transgender employees - even those that get a bit out of line like myself.)

The world's most beautiful mathematics had to wait a few centuries for the technological zen of Japan.  I am so glad the patent expired.

LilyMelody

  Didn't I warn you of her dementia? Didn't I?

Oh btw You also need to beware of that citified ruffian Devlyn also. I have personal knowledge of her too having met her also. She railroaded me into Boston one day for a stroll around town and treated me to dinner. Sounds nice doesn't it? Well her diabolic scheme was to subject me to downtown Boston with it's millions of people with her full knowledge that I hate cities. That includes our lil ol' Portland. Devious of her wasn't it?

You will find I am somewhat normal here. Others kind of stretch things...

Hugs,
    Laurie

You do not know how true that statement is as applied to some of us. You have no idea.

Well ladies I am wearing a dress and high heel OTK boots. I feel sexy as hell haha ;)

Wish I had the confidence to present this way in public.

I would love to own a pair but right now it's not an option.  Hopefully next year when I expand my wardrobe.

Nothing else makes me feel quite as feminine as high heel boots.

Ok, I admit I might have a bit of an obsession with high heel OTK boots. Maybe more than an obsession but I won't go there.

Most of the shoes I have bought over the years were 3 1/2+ inches. I love high heels with no or low platforms. I feel good in them but I have to admit not very practical or comfortable. I've had to buy more practical shoes.  I even had to buy a pair of low heel pumps to take on my road trip, just in case. I did find a use for them at my final visit when Anne and wife took me to dinner and I wore a dress.  It was a bit young and a bit too short for my age, but I did love how I felt wearing it. Was my first time wearing a dress out in public. I had many such first on that adventure...../sigh

I understand :) I also tend to wear more comfortable shoes, though I would wear heels all the time for the confidence and thrill I get. Definitely not for height. I like being a tall girl, though I wouldn't mind being maybe 2 or 3 inches shorter so I am not a complete giant when hearing 4 inch heels.

And I agree, not a fan of platforms.

Is it weird that I'm a man that loves OTK socks? [emoji6]

Especially my red and white striped Wicked Witch of the East socks, my purple and black striped ones and my two different pairs of black and white striped socks.

I'd also rock a pair of OTK pirate-style mens boots if I could afford them! [emoji12]

I love otk boots! Since I have wide calves (thick legs), I just have to hope that they have a size wide or I will have to go up a size from what I normally wear.

You'll find something. I am in the boat and I managed it :)
