Title: Hi hi :3
Post by: Reb_ on August 10, 2017, 02:59:00 AM
Hey hey, Reb_ here.
I'm new to this forum and I hope I can make some friends that can help me understand myself better.
I don't want to say I'm a guy, but I'm not sure enough to call myself MtF.
I like cats, music, videogames and I spend most of my time in YouTube.
I'm 25 years old, bipolar (actually bipolar) and I'm studying pen testing (maybe I'll be like Nomi from sense8 :P)
I hope we get to be friends, thanks for reading this far and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Hi Reb_

I think I am the thread above you here. So I'm a new contributor myself. Hope that life is treating you well.

I had to search for what pen testing was! I have just started to watch sense8 so I'm way behind the curve but it's been good fun so far.

All the best with your future exploits! :)

Hello Reb!  Welcome to Susan's.

Glad you joined.  You don't have to say or decide whether you are MtF - this is a place for everyone transgender and that includes those just starting to understand and explore, and also those of us who are non-binary.  Several reasons it's called a gender spectrum, your answer and goals may change over time.

Software penetration testing (security analysis) is quite a skill - requires a blend of creativity and technical aptitude.  Great field to be aiming for.

I found a wealth of information in the Wiki section here on Susan's when I first joined.  The main thing is finding so many super helpful people in different stages of a common experience and being able to interact now that you are a member.

Something else to consider is getting access to a qualified gender therapist or counselor.  Having one definitely helped me.  You mentioned being bipolar, I am not sure if you are currently working with a health professional but they should be able to refer you to a gender specialist.  A significant number of people in this community have found they were able to reduce or even eliminate the need for other forms of medication after starting HRT.  Each of us is unique so we shouldn't always assume that would be the case, but it is a potential benefit.

Susan's Place has information we always provide to new members, and I will add it here for you.  This helps keep everything running here as intended, and can save you time as a reference.

Hi Reb,

I am Laurie, mtf and a self appointed and unofficial greeter here . Welcome to Susan's Place, (hug) welcome welcome come on into our little home away from home on the web. We're glad you found us and hope that you will become comfortable here and find whatever it is you happen to be looking for.
I myself quit lurking in the shadows and made my first post looking for support. You see I was taking hrt I had umm lets just say acquired and was looking at an upcoming appointment with my GP and I was convince I had to tell him I was trans and taking meds on my own. I was a but nervous. But it all turned out great for me as I wound up getting My HRT through the VA and was now under a doctors supervision. He also started tha ball rolling so I now have a gender therapist to explore things with. In fact I see my therapist again on Monday to talk over a few kind of big things I did recently. I'm looking forward to it.
It sounded as if you are more gender curious and searching more than decided upon where you fit in on this wide spectrum of being trangender.

I hope you take time to explore it in depth before deciding .

Hugs,
   Laurie
