Title: Hormones and effects on erections
Post by: BlueJaye on August 15, 2017, 11:04:39 PM
One of the things I hate most about my body is erections. I have an appointment to see an endocrinologist in October about HRT. One of the things on my list that I am really hoping for is to stop having erections. I have read that the impact of HRT on ability to have erections can vary substantially from person to person.

How many of you completely stopped having erections on HRT? Do you think this is something realistic to hope for?

My erections stopped pretty much altogether when I switched from Spironolactone to Androcur. I still get them when I read something or think about something erotic.. although it's way different to what triggered me before. Much more emotional now.

Anyway, you might need a more potent anti-androgen.

Erection, what's that? I've lost male function completely. Could be age related as well. I knew there was a chance I would lose it, but held out hope. C'est la vie.

Hugs, Devlyn

I'm post-op, my testosterone levels were very low, under the normal female range. Still got clitoral erections/engorgement.

Mine stopped totally.  I can still orgasm but without a erection.

If I were a post-op woman, your situation would be welcomed. I hate having a thing sticking out. It's disgusting and feels like a foreign appendage attached to me that I have no control of. It's like that chest bursting alien thing from the alien movies, only in my crotch instead of in my chest.

I can only hope that my results will be similar. I would rather not give up orgasms, but would do it if it meant getting rid of erections. It would be nice to experience them again. I stopped involving my penis in anything sexual about a year ago, I do kind of miss orgasms sometimes.

Your orgasms will actually get better. Look at the thread titled. Sex for transwomen who haven't had bottom surgery. I gave like a detailed description of orgasm after hrt.

I don't know if this is too graphic, but it helped me that I was already a bottom before going on hrt.  Hrt, even though for me it's only been a couple months has made me lose erection almost totally.  However, I still orgasm the way I've always done for my whole life.  If you haven't already, maybe teach yourself to orgasm without touching your thingie.  I don't miss erections:)

Thanks! I will search for it.

Mine are drastically reduced. Went from a few times a day down to pretty much only if I want to (so about every other week). I can still orgasm, there is little to now ejaculation (a few drops of clear liquid) and even getting an erection takes a lot longer than before. Orgasms have changed in feel. Anyway, there is hope for you (and that was actually one of the reasons for me to go on HRT).

6 weeks into HRT,  I don't get any spontaneous activity any more. Drive is way down,  but can currently still perform if I can be bothered to try. Orgasm has not really changed for me yet,  as others have reported. Like sarah1972 commented,  'output'  is now very minimal.

I found your post and it sounds like exactly what I would hope for (short of actually having female anatomy down there). I really like the idea of being able to leave panties on and still get there, as I don't like seeing my parts.

Thank you, this makes me feel much more positive about the choice to pursue HRT.

I don't get any spontaneous activity down there anymore and I experience arousal differently than before. If I'm with my wife I still jump to attention pretty quickly but it isn't as firm as it used to be and feels like it's lost some size. I tend to enjoy the stimulation far more before I get fully erect. When I do orgasm there is usually no ejaculation at all. Arousal is different in general, I need more emotional stimulation and foreplay. It's less about my bits down there and more about everything else. I still need stimulation down there to get off, but if I'm not in the right mindset the orgasm is more like a buildup and release than a big event. I also don't really care if I have an orgasm during penetrative sex, I don't enjoy the physical aspect of it at all, moreso just the intimacy. It's probably only a matter of time before I won't be able to stomach being in that role any longer.

I'm glad I could help. There is something else you can do that I didn't mention. It's a lot easier if your boyfriend just uses his hand between your legs but If he does it right your partner can give you a orgasm by dry humping you through your panties. Personally I enjoy orgasming
while my boyfriend is on top of me. It's the closest I can get to vaginal sex until my SRS.

Well, my boyfriend is my wife, but I think this would work nicely ;) My wife loves dry humping, so I can imagine this would be appealing to both of us.

I hear you. I reached the point of not being able to stomach it about a year ago. That was when I decided to exclude my penis from anything sexual. I enjoy making love to my wife a lot more now, but having a way to experience orgasms again without erections ruining the fun would be really wonderful.

Very nearly completely went away on their own from HRT. With effort i can get them perhaps to about 75% strength, it takes considerable effort though.

Hi Julia 🙋🏼  My boyfriend gave me some crotchless panties.  I don't see my bits and he has full access.  When I'm with him, he makes me feel like I'm a woman, and knows what I like!

I'm on very high doses of E and AAs as well as Finasteride, I wake every single morning with erections. I gave up chasing how to stop them. GCS is going to be my only cure.

Just about the ability of that part to perform. Mentally, i am pretty neutral on it.
