I know people thought I was different , but I doubt they suspected being trans.

When I was "outed by my nurse sister during a family conference phone call," afterwards, my little brother said, "now it all makes sense," in reguards to how I've acted my entire life. ☺

I've always been rather masculine, so it feels nice to not have to hide my true self anymore!

I have always been seen as different. People assumed I was a lesbian (because that was the label for gender non-conforming females when I was a teen). None of the people I've come out to have been surprised...
I spent a long time trying to pass as a straight woman and I think the only people I ever convinced were straight female acquaintances.

Definitely people knew I was different. Most people assumed I was gay, at school anyway. My dad had suspected I was actually trans. I found out that he and my brother had actually had a conversation about if I was trans or gay.  I think most people think gay before they think trans. No one on this planet thought I was a normal hetero boy. I do know that for a fact.

I think that most people that haven't paid super close attention to me would think that I was a cis hetero male. However, if people really tried to analyze my personality and how I socialize then my feminine nature might become more obvious. I have always been extremely nurturing and attentive to others. I am also very sensitive to the feelings of the people that I'm around and I feel that I pick up on a lot of subtle emotions and body language that most guys are generally oblivious to. I've also never really engaged in much stereotypical male conversation (lewd sexual talk, cars, outdoor activities, etc.)

I don't think anyone knew I was different I knew it but didn't understand why. I had my friend's daughter in Idaho claim she knew I was trans but I'm not not sure how credible that claim is as she said it after I told her mother.

My parents assumed I was gay for a long time (especially since I showed zero interest in dating). Other than that I was always different in school, never interested in the things the other kids were, especially during my headbanger phase (still love metal though!), followed by my math & computer loving nerd phase. Wait... I'm still in that phase!
Did others know what was really going on with me? I seriously doubt it.  It was probably much easier to bully me for the more obvious things.

Yeah definitely thought I was gay.  I can't tell you how many times I've been asked by family friends, random guys looking for a date.  That stopped when I gained weight.  So take note stay thin for the attention.  Nobody thought I was trans even when I had long hair, just thought gay.

Oh, I should add my parents though knew I was trans from an early age.  They never told anyone else, I haven't come out to them yet either.  They won't be surprised, probably be happy I'm finally trying to be me.

Somehow they always know I'm different. I've always been hit on by gay guys. Not my thing. Ok, once it was.  :)

I only told two people in my life (that knew me prior of me admitting). It wasn't shocking for either, but not sure if they were progressive or just thought it made sense.

One guy told me that I'm 10% gay. So whatever.

Responses when I came out, such as the following, indicated to me that a lot of people had some idea:

  • What took you so long?
  • Well that explains a few things.
  • Tell me something I don't already know.
  • Derrr!

The last one is my favourite..
