Hello!
I am looking for a FFS surgeon with a reputation for quality and thoroughness.
I believe I will need these procedures:
- Lip Lift
- Face lift
- Cheek Augmentation
- Brow Lift
- possibly work to shrink my nose a little as well.. we'll see.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations and insights.
Hi SnoBrittany
I'm Laurie, mtf. I live in the Portland Oregon area and if you are near Portland you might have a look at the Q Center for information. Seattle also has a larger LGBTQ+ center. You can do a web search using LGBTQ+ and your nearby city to see results for resources in your area.
I see that you are new here. So please let me say, Welcome To Susan's Place! Come on in and take a good look around. Perhaps I can even get you to hop on over to the
Introductions (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,8.0.html) Thread and create a post to tell us a little bit more about yourself so we can get to know you a little better and greet you properly.
Also I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site.

SnoBrittany,
It may be difficult to find an experienced FFS surgeon if you limit yourself to a particular state as there are very few FFS surgeons in general in the United States and even fewer who are able to perform more complex surgery such as the Type 3 Forehead reconstruction.
We have had many patients come from Washington State, Vancouver, and Portland for surgery. About half of those had insurance coverage for FFS and the other half was self-pay. I recommend at least consulting with 3 different FFS surgeons and they should be able to explain in detail how the procedures are performed. Most of my own patients have seen several other surgeons before consulting with our practice. Best of luck on your search,

I'd be careful trying to choose an FFS surgeon based on location only. It's such a specialized field and it's one thing you really can't hide if it gets messed up.
I live in WA but I traveled to SF for the surgery . Not too far but yeah.
There is a trans friendly Dr in Seattle, Dr. Lamperti. https://www.drlamperti.com/
I found him in a search for doctors who do trach shaves. I went to him for an evaluation of post surgical issues I was experiencing from another surgeon across the country. He has a nice but quirky personality. I do not know how much experience he has with trans folk.
I live in Kirkland near Seattle. I had eyelid surgery and other minor procedures locally last year, but I'll probably be traveling pretty far for FFS. I am considering Marbella Spain, Boston, or maybe Argentina.
Thank you all for your helpful advice! I think I am going to go to California and consult with doctors in the Bay area and LA area. I am still going to do some research of reviews/testimonials to filter the choices - I've been told that Realself.com is a good source for this.
In any case, I am at least convinced WA. state isn't going to cut it :)
This is such a critical part of my transition and having great insurance I really want to do this right the first time.
I have another question but will start a new thread for that.
Thanks again!
