Title: Losing weight but not on purpose
Post by: Angela49 on September 05, 2017, 12:04:31 PM
Hi all, been lurking around for a few months and could use some help or feedback please.
MTF and on hrt for 4 months now. E&S
I am 50 yrs old 5' 7" and started hrt at 158 lbs
Been dropping weight ever since and now at 151 lbs
I did not have alot of muscle mass to lose but I am starting to look sickly. Just had a yearly physical and all looked great?? My endo does not have any answers at this time but offered to prescribe progesterone in 3 months if this trend continues.

Anyone else ever have this happen to them??
I want curves someday but if this keeps up I will look like a fence post!

7# in 4 months is not a lot and could just be water? Did your diet change at all?

Welcome to Susan's Place. Both testosterone and Progesterone can cause an increase in appetite. If you find your getting full sooner just don't care to eat like before, it's probably because the spiro has suppressed your testosterone to the point that your no longer eating enough to maintain your weight. You may have to intentionally eat more though Progesterone should bring your appetite back.

I lost A LOT of weight since month 1 when I was just taking spiro. So it definitely happens. I'm convinced it was the spiro since that was the first thing I took.

No major change in diet. If anything I am eating more than before.
