So lately I've been working on my feminine voice. Back at the beginning of the year (Summer for me) I felt really confident about my voice. I could use my full range comfortably and I felt very girly! There was never any mucus preventing me from using my feminine voice. However, as the months progressed, I seemed to have this stubborn mucus around my vocal cords. Different times of the day it's worse and some days I don't have much there at all.
Basically, when I use my head voice, it causes me to croak and my voice to break. This never happened earlier in the year, and I'm suspecting it's the seasons affecting my mucus production.
I've tried everything, and I'm getting desperate. From vitamins, anti-histamines, diet, humidifiers, drinking lots of water, vocalzone... you name it.
Has anyone else experienced this and more importantly, does anyone have a solution? I just want to be clear of this mucus/phlegm. It's so stubborn.
The next step I'm considering is seeing an ENT doctor.

Hi Ellement_of_Freedom
My voice therapist said coffee will do that but you already said you have tried water which is what fixes the coffe thing. The other one I have heard is some blood pressure tabs can give you a kind of dry cough...
Are you taking speech therapy in Adelaide?
If you need I know the ENT doctor to get a referral too and both Liz and I know the speech pathologist to see. Let me know and I can send you the details in a PM
I've found that guaifenesin (mucinex in the USA ) works pretty well on the days where I run into this. Otherwise I've learned to feel for it and clear my throat a little before speaking. Pushing a little more air helps sometimes as well.
A long term solution would be great, but I haven't found it yet.
