So I don't know if it's me or the tech. But let me ask, WHAT PAIN???? I went on her website and did the opposite of everything your not supposed to do. No water. Lots of caffeine and etc..... I wanted to get the worse pain I could from it and there was none. I wanted to see if there was a difference if I had caffeine. Because I need caffeine. Lol. I almost fell asleep. She told me one of her clients does fall asleep all the time at twice the power than my first time. Lol. I really can not see how it could ever get so bad I would need an injection. Lol. Thank you god!! This one worry was unfounded for me. No pain. But I do my own piercings and do epilate so very sensitive parts all the time.

Ooh, meant to answer in email, but I'll do it here. Our electroligist uses the highest end machine there is. The advantage for us is that the zap is way way more powerful, but also for a much much shorter amount of time. This is supposed to make it more comfortable for us, and allow her to work faster. I only have experience with an older machine and it was more painful, and I'll get to experience the new machine on Saturday. Also you might find that there are parts of your face that hurt more than others. Mine is my neck close to the Adams apple and upper lip. Guess what I'm having her concentrate on, Yup, those two! I might cry, I almost do when epillating those areas. We shall see.
What areas did you have done? Was she okay with us being trans? I assume so, haven't met an electroligist who wasnt:)
Ya she has many trans patients. I did not even care. We just started talking about it. Probably when I contacted her I said my name is my female or my male name depending on who I'm talking to. Lol. She will be calling Norma.
The little patch she did was on my neck. And it hurt more in some areas than others. She did not spread out to far. I will be concentrating on my neck first then some of the face until. It's done everywhere but the goatee area and sideburns. Once it's all done but those then I'll start those. It will give my wife time to grieve about the loss. She loves those parts of me. Here is the spot she did.

i had my first electrolysis apt this week. one hour on my upper chest. While i found it uncomfortable it wasn't bad at all. rather mild. The next day I had barely any visible skin irritation.
i had my first laser apt on my face earlier this month. I found that somewhat painful. Although, the entire session for my face and neck was only 15 min. i had hardly any immediate side effects. Almost no skin irritation at all.

The bold above is the first thing that stands out to me. If the other patient has treatment at twice your level then I venture you are getting a very low setting. My electrolysis sessions hurt and that is even though I do what is recommended to mitigate the pain. My electrologist uses a setting one click under the max on my face.
The first couple times she worked on me weren't too bad and I was wondering what the big deal was also but then my GP doubled my estradiol dose and it increased the pain substantially. There is a reason people recommend you start electrolysis long before starting HRT if you can. That is because it is going to hurt more if you wait. It isn't an idle
comment, it's true.
Hugs,
Laurie

Nope it's not a low setting. That it guaranteed. Plus I asked. She knows I want the highest possible so her going back over the same area will only be for hairs that are in other stages. Not the hair she already treated. And I do not agree with starting electrolysis or laser before hrt. If I would have done it on the parts of my body that the hair bothered me the most except my face. I would have done arms and back. My back was thick and black. About three months after starting hrt I had a full body sugaring. And now no black hair on my back. So laser or electrolosis would have been a waste of money. And my arms the same. I only run an epilator every 2 months or so while in the shower to get the stragglers and the some of those feminine clear or white hairs that grow too long. Women have hair everywhere they are thin and clear or white. Peach fuzz. Now why would I waste money on areas HRT took care of. I guess if you have it. But I don't have any extra money. People say it will get worse. I doubt it will. If it does I can handle it. Lol. Pain is good. Makes you know your alive. One thing is true though. HRT makes pain worse. Wow the sugaring after starting HRT! It did hurt more.
