Hide and seek was tops with friends.  When I was alone I read a lot, and when I could find the right token for hopscotch, a worn heel from a man's shoe, I played.

Now that I think of it, I grew up in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania and the stuff fell off the truck whenever it was delivered to fill a coal bin.  It was excellent for drawing on the sidewalk.

Hmm I didn't really play games so much. We played 'Conquistadors and Indians' instead of 'Cowboys and Indians'.
And Pirates.
And Vietnam soldiers. (lol first thing in the morning, with dew on the grass was the tall grasses to hide behind, lol)
And school. I loved playing teacher.

Great topic Lucy, but I think I'm going to cry. I was so naive and stupid in those days. I was supposed to grow up to be a hero, a man - not this. Puberty shattered all my dreams, all my illusions that some day everything would be okay.

never was really into games or any of that.
but i really liked walking around the woods behind my parents house.
when i got older, i fixed up a little tractor.
i would ride that around the woods for hours.
had a little trailer for the tractor. I would pack up all my camping gear in that and go miles back in the woods camping.
