Title: Need help from those girls that have been to the Preecha Institute
Post by: Jessica Lynne on September 14, 2017, 07:12:00 PM
Hi guys...I can't seem to get an answer out of PAI that makes much sense to me. For the girls that have been there and had procedures of any sort, how did you pay them? Were you allowed to pay by using a Visa / MC ? They've kinda left me the impression they dont accept credit cards. I know I cant take more than 10, 000 dollars out of the country and I don't want to travel with that much cash anyway. If anyone knows how I can fund them it would ease my mind to know. I know it's stupid but I can't quit worrying about it.

I am having dinner with Jessie the Admin person at PAI tonight and will ask him. I paid by TT but it makes sense to pay by credit card.

Thank you so much. I've had such a hard time getting a straight answer. I keep asking and for whatever reason were not communicating. Since I'm not sure which procedures beyond SRS I'm getting, there's no set amount I may be spending.

I used a credit/debit card...there was something like a 1% fee as well I think.

I paid cash. I was travelling with my mother and we split the money so we would have less than 10k each. I dont know if it was possible to pay with credit card

Gosh....that's heartening news! Can you share with me how long ago you were there? I'd happily pay the 1 percent to avoid carrying such a large sum of cash. Add to that, it's illegal to take more than 10,000 dollars out of the Country if I understand the law correctly.

I don't think it's illegal to take more than 10k out of the country but you need to fill out the proper paper work so the government is aware you are doing it and the reason for doing it. The law is primarily in place to prevent drug dealer from receiving profits from drugs shipped to the United States. That's also why the $1,000 bill and higher denomination bills were removed from circulation. A few million dollars take up a bunch of space when it's in $100 bill and drug dealers need to move far larger amounts of money.

I did a quick google check and I found you need "Report of International Transportation of Currency and Monetary Instruments" FinCEN 105 (former CF 4790)". If for some reason you need to return with over 10k, make sure you declare it to customs as they will not be happy if they discover it before they are told about it.

Hi Jessica. spoke with Jessie at PAI during dinner. PAI would prefer cash but you can pay by credit card. He suggest that the initial deposit be in cash and the balance paid by credit card.. You can reach him by email at niwattk@gmail.com if you have questions.

Thank you Bobbie. That was really nice of you to ask him for me. I guess I'll TT 10 or 12k to them and pay the balance by CC. That way they'll incur minimal charges. They've been so kind and helpful and Iwant to do what they want to the degree that I can accomodate them. All of this really puts my mind at ease and is one less thing I need to worry myself over.

Thank you Dena....I know it doesn't make sense, but I'm simply not comfortable carrying that much cash. Thank you for posting that very informative info. If all else goes awry, it gives me another option. I'm very appreciative of your efforts to help me.

I understand how you feel about that much cash. When I had surgery, I had to pay by cashiers check so I had to get the check Friday before the trip then fly to trinidad, stay the night in the hotel before I could deliver the check the following morning. It made me rather nervous and while I was traveling the purse was never out of my sight. My check was for around $8,000 but money was worth a bit more before inflation devalued it. In addition, like many, that was all the money I had and it would have taken several years to replace it.

Yes.... this is not some whim. If I lose the money or worse, I've absolutely no recourse. The thought completely terrifies me. I've saved for ae lifetime for this opportunity. Everything must go as planned. Thanks for understanding my pathos, Dena. Carrying cash just seems like an arrogant disregard of the forces of the Universe.

I generally only have a couple hundred in cash and pay by credit card or extra cash at ATMs. May I sugggest that you let your banj know you will use your ATM and credit card overseas. I had to notify  Citibank and Standard Chartered.

Bangkok is the most visited city in the world. PAI is in the core city and every paynents service is available. Most locals and tourist here dont carry cash,

Thank you, Bobbie. That is very helpful information and I'll do just that. I'll give Peera a heads up too, so were on the same page.
