Title: Oops!! Might have messed something up.
Post by: Artesia on September 18, 2017, 11:46:52 PM
I had a second interview today for a new job.  Well at least new company, same basic job, but with more money, and closer to family.  One of the questions was where I viewed myself being in 5 years.  I said that I would hope to be working on my masters degree for psychology with a specialization in gender studies, so that I could help other transgender people.  She seemed to catch it, and mentioned her brother(FTM) and that she thinks I would be good at that.  I don't know how that will affect my ability to et this job, it is a "Christian" based company, and their EEO form didn't include a non-discrimination clause that included gender.  Just race, sex, age, religion, military background, and disability.

I'd say be optimistic the fact the interviewer could relate with her brother!

(As for being a Christian company, don't assume the worst there either. Despite some of the more public stuff, I know even Chick-Fil-A regularly employs transgender men and women.)

I had my third interview with the same company today.  Still don't know if I got the job.  This time it was with the company president.  They are being very thorough.  He seemed pretty interested in my being employed with his company, and said he had one more person to interview.  He said if I don't get this position that he may hire me for the facility he is building in another town.

I guess that's good?????

If the president wanted to spare his time on you, it's good. He wouldn't spend his time on someone who isn't in the game. Usually, it means above 50% probability of an offer.

There was one other person to meet him.  So exactly 50% chance of an offer.  Just depends on if he wants me or her.  She was a pleasant woman when I met her.  I find it odd that we were allowed to meet each other.

From the description it sound like there might be two positions open. It could be a test of character meeting your opponent. How you behave under pressure would determine if you get a position and which one you get.

The other facility won't even open until January of next year.  So, one now and one in 4 months.

I didn't think of that aspect Dena, thanks
