Title: Post-surgery Clitoral Stimulation Loss of Sensation - Problem - Please HELP
Post by: kitten_lover on September 21, 2017, 08:01:51 PM
Hi folks

I've had a browse through some of the topics to try and find an answer or see if somebody who has had their GRS/SRS/GCS has had a similar experience to me. Basically, I had my surgery only 6 weeks ago in Brighton, UK by Dr Thomas. Surgery went great and post-surgery, I've got a lot of sensation around my clitoral area. Hopeful. This was up there as one of the most important, if not the most, important aspects of surgery to me that I hoped to retain. I have my own personal reasons on this, and I'm sure a lot of people relate to the significance of it. About 4-5 weeks post surgery I was feeling fantastic about the sensation I had and I was confident in my ability to climax once stimulated. I had my checkup on week 6 and Dr Thomas had said in response to my query about touching myself in that area, that I could begin to explore my body. I didn't know what he meant exactly but I took that to mean that I could tap the top (outer surface) of my clit hood, which would give me stimulation. The nurses actually encouraged this before dilating, to encourage blood flow to that area. I had my first orgasm around week 6 and was over the moon that I literally knew I was able to do it.

About five days later I was talking with someone in a sexual way who had aroused me and as our conversation went on I thought it would be ok to stimulate that area again. Except this time it went on for about 20 minutes and by that time I could feel the clit hood beginning to swell and get sore. I wanted to finish, so after the phone call I did climax again however, after that I noticed something very strange happen. It was as though my clitoris had disappeared! I've been a panic for a few days now and don't know what else to do besides seek advice from a community where a lot of people have been through this surgery and may be able to enlighten me on what's going on.

During the first 6 weeks after surgery, I noticed my clitoris was held inside the clitoral hood quite high, at the top of the vulva, and kind of ran the length of the clitoral hood, with the hood covering it at the entrance. Now, I can't feel it anymore at the top of the vulva. I just don't feel anything there, it looks like it's shrunk and that half of my clitoris has disappeared. I still have sensation however not as much as previous to having that second orgasm. Initially, I was really saddened as I was worrying if I had killed off the tissue, or whether the stimulation I had caused myself ruptured some of the sutures, which as far as I know, hold the clitoris in place. I feel extremely depressed and a bit distraught at the moment as I can't understand what has happened. I've been in touch with the nurses at the hospital and they've said to me that during recovery things do change which I didn't feel was an satisfactory explanation. I'm not sure whether I should touch the area at the moment to 'wake' it back up or let it rest or recover and not do a thing.

Please could any share stories if you relate to this?

Thankyou

I think that the previous size of your clitoris was due to swelling, as you stimulated the blood flow massaging the clitoris you caused the swelling to subside which caused your clitoris to become smaller. This is all expected and as your nurse said the things will change. I don't think you have lost any sensations or the ability to climax.

Thank you for your response, I spoke with the nurse today again and also a friend and they said it will get smaller in time. What was shocking for me though, was that it happened immediately after I climaxed - and therefore I associated something I had done with the change that occurred.
