Title: A rough week for kangaroos but 6 months have passed.
Post by: Cindy on September 22, 2017, 04:18:32 AM
I've had a rough week.It was full of physical pain and the mental struggle of being a cancer thriver.

So the week was full of not coping with bad thoughts and keeping a brave face on it all, and failing. I caught up with my support nurse and my psychiatrist who both helped.

I then went to the conferring ceremony for probably my last PhD student.

Here is Prof Cindy in her Academic Regalia.

I had a lovely time and was very proud of my student who got her Doctorate despite my transition and Cancer fight.

So this morning I decided to feel better with a facial to start the day.

I felt so much better!!

I'm back now and was wondering why I was feeling flat this week.

I checked my diary and it is 6 months this week since my laryngectomy.

I'm having a glass of champagne to celebrate!

When is Halloween??

Thank you Cindy. I thought you looked very nice in your robes. Then I scrolled down and you got me with the facial picture. It was a good thing I wasn't taking a drink at the time. Granted my monitors do need washing but a slightly damp cloth wound be better.

Hugs,
   Laurie

I shall remind you both that in keeping with modern practice, or at least as reported in some News reports, that the leaders photograph should be featured in every facility.

<I shouldn't have posted that. I really shouldn't have :rolleyes:>

I'm sorry you were feeling bad Cindy. I'm glad you're feeling better now. You look very sharp in your robes. As for the mask picture, well sometimes you have to look a little rough to look good plus you're among friends here.
Glad you're feeling better.
Big hugs.

And don't pay any attention to Laurie, she doesn't even like cheesecake.

Cindy, that facial pic is hilarious.  Also congrats on unleashing another "not that kind of doctor" on the world.

If you miss Halloween,  you could always move to Paris and become a mime artist. [emoji4]

I've just worked out why!
I was wondering why my white face would be triggering (hence my Marcel reply) and I think you were thinking of my lack of voice.

I didn't even think of that!

Brilliant!!

I've had a crap week wallowing a little in cancer despair, I started to feel better on Thursday and your remark has just cheered me up completely!

Thank you.  I never even thought that anyone would ever think that not having a voice would mean anything. I love it.

Awesome!!
