Title: Best epilator?
Post by: Charlie Nicki on October 17, 2017, 07:37:43 PM
I've decided I will only get laser on my beard. For body hair I will let HRT do it's job and then shave it or epilate it. Which one is a better choice? I feel like epilating is probably better, if so what's the best machine? Having hairy boobs is gonna give me major dysphoria so I need to start doing it regularly (I was getting IPL for my chest but I needed to cut expenses).

It would be of great help if you can share where to buy it and the price. Thank you.

Pro tip: Get used to a pair of tweezers before you buy an epilator. I have a Braun Silk-Epil 9, it was about $120.

Braun lady epil 9 is the best one.  I've used several. It runs a little over a hundred when I ordered it.   I'm going to laser and electrolysis all my body hair now though.  Epilating, I would get ingrown hairs, I'm plagued with that. Even if it takes a while laser and electrolysis iss worth it to me in the long run for me.

Hi Dani, I got a lady Remington hand held.  I got it at Longs for about $25.  It worked fairly well if used as directed.  Came back after two weeks a bit sparser.  I'm thinking about waxing, it seems like it would take less time.
Kisses, Jess

Wow, at that price I hope it's faster than the one I have with no pain!

The first time I ever tweezed a hair felt like I was pulling my brain out with it.

The epilator was an easy transition after tweezing for awhile.

Ohh I tweeze my eyebrows. Even my nose (which is the worst pain ever) so I can handle it.

Thanks Jess, Dev and Bari Jo. Seems like the Braun lady epil 9 is winning so far. Can I get it anywhere? Or just online?

I couldn't find it anywhere local.  The local stores had the cheap ones.  Amazon though delivers fast:)

I wouldn't get IPL instead of proper laser.

I used a Phillips Satinelle for a while, reviewers on Amazon thought highly of them and it was affordable too - about $35 with shipping.  It will let you know if it's the way you want to go; in the end I decided I had to have a more permanent solution and started with electrolysis. Shaving all the time is a bother but epilating really only gave me a few more days of smoothness.  YMMV of course.

I've tweezed my entire face, neck, chest, and abdomen at times, including nose hairs. Worst depiliating pain I've ever felt is using an Epilator on the upper lip directly under the nose for the first time. Tweezing penile shaft hairs hurts less.

I use that rechargeable wet/dry lady Remington as well. Got it for $35 at target. Does its job fine, still can't wait for lazer though.

HUGS!
