I read that story earlier. It looks like the player had not been on HRT so preventing her from playing was the right decision.

Yes, that is the case.. She also has yet had much in muscle reduction.. Nice to see some sane discussion on the topic.
I'm kind of undecided on this issue anyway. After more than two years on HRT I have stronger legs than about 90% of women and more than half of men who strength train. This is for all ages and is more pronounced if you narrow it to my age group or include all people whether they train or not. So, either I am some kind of genetic freak (I don't think so) or we retain an advantage even after a long time on HRT.
If this is so then it will never be fair to compete against CIS females.
I narrowed the above to legs because in my experiment of one that is the most pronounced and is my focus for training. If you include upper body though I am still stronger than the vast majority of women but don't compare as well with men anymore.

The thing I don't understand is that she has met the standards for the Olympics but not for football. She is 100kgs and 6'2 m(I think)...Maybe someone ought to look across the Tasman and see the size of the women playing rugby. So if we have a cis female over 6ft and 100Kg they will preclude her? I think not...

Exactly, "They formed a subcommittee to discuss her eligibility after confirming she met the IOC requirements." If a cis 100kg player applied would she have to get before the subcommittee? What is the weight cutoff for players? Stinks of a rather last minute decision..
Also not announcing their decision until the day before the draft when they have known for 5months.. looks very much to me that they held off until there was no possibility of launching an appeal.
It's not the best look ATM

And she can still play in the female amateur league, just not the professional female league. If her size was an issue there are more likely players her size and strength in the AWFL than in the local leagues. Her coaches in her local league emphasis that while she is a large girl she isn't any stronger than others just a bit bigger.
Sounds like - oh let's put this in the too hard basket.
