Hi everyone. I have been taking the following meds twice a day for the last 3 months.
1) Voxinix
2) Sizodon
3)Zeptol
4)Eliwel
I am being treated for depression and anxiety and I think I have been prescribed excessive meds. I mean, 8 tablets a day is too much, right? Or is this normal?
What do y'all think?

Only a physician with a full clinical history could possibly answer that hon.

Ok, but still, do you know anyone who takes 8 tablets a day? And btw, even taking those doesn't improve my depression

IMHO one (1) is too much!!! It's a beautiful sunny day
now go outside and play!!
Hi Saira,
I've been diagnosed with clinical depression myself but I refused all medication for it and just live the depression. It's difficult. That being said, as Cindy has mentioned, only a trained physician with your full medical history can answer that.
Do you have a therapist to talk to about your depression?
Well I take 9 tablets a day as well as having a medication pump running 24/7 and gel to apply...so the numbers of the tablets don't matter so much....they keep threatening to add more to mine!!! LOL ;D So long as it keeps me pain free and alive then I'll take 20 a day if that's what they thought would help....If you are getting side effects from them then talk to your Dr...
Have you tried daily exercise as a complement to you regimen? You may find that takes the edge off.

I just have a psychiatrist who prescribes medicine, he doesn't talk with me much. By therapist, do you mean, a doctor like they show in the movies who talks to you?

I take at least 10 not counting vitamins and the occasional aspirin or ibuprofen.

I am at 10 regular pills a day...
The process of swallowing the tablets, it never gets better for me. Lol
Everytime I take them, I feel scared that the tablets are gonna get stuck in my throat. I need atleast half a litre of water while swallowing the tiny bastards.

You are indeed on some serious meds. In the States, we call what you're on Luvox, Risperdal, Tegretol, and Elavil. As others have said, I can't say whether that regimen is appropriate for you because I'm not a doctor. But yeah--the stuff you're on treats depression, OCD, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Not to say you have all those things, it's just that you're on a broad spectrum of stuff.
Have you asked your psychiatrist why you're taking all those meds? You have a right to know why they were prescribed and what you can expect them to do for you. Also, the doctor needs to know if they're not working. I wouldn't worry about the number of pills you take (like others, I take a handful every day), I'd worry more that you don't seem to be feeling better after you swallow all that stuff.
And I take it you don't have a therapist? Or as you put it, someone who talks to you like in the movies. I know that people who experience depression do better if they have both medication and talk therapy. I can't say I know as much about other disorders.
If I remember right, you still live with your folks? Would they support you in going to talk therapy with a psychologist?

I don't know how they will react when I talk to them about talk therapy. They think my meds work. When I am infront of them, I behave like I am getting better.
I am tired of pretending to be better. I am actually tired of everything tbh. I don't have friends to talk to, any friends I make, I lose them because of my behaviour.

What one doctor thinks is okay, another might say you're not on enough or you're on too much.
I agree with what the others say, only a doctor can speak on this.
Research your pills if that helps you, I know some psychiatric medicines can cause future problems down the road; Parkinson's and such.
